Reiseverlauf

Ariana was a great guide. Alex was a fine driver. Only 7 of us on the tour, so it was intimate and not rushed. Very informative.
Thank you for this fantastic 5-star review! Our team works hard to create memorable experiences, and it means a lot to know we succeeded. We hope to see you again on your next visit to Costa Rica!
We had a fantastic tour with our guide Walker, visiting Cahuita National park and the canals. Walker was very informative, always engaged and keen to make everyone's trip a memorable one. He is so passionate about Costa Rica and all it has to offer. He very kindly brought us a range of local fruits to try from his personal farm - a lovely touch. We saw a wide range of wildlife and loved it! The vehicle was in excellent condition and the driver was great. I would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting the region.
We truly appreciate your kind words and 5-star rating. Thank you for supporting sustainable tourism in Costa Rica. We hope to share more nature adventures with you soon!
This was the closest to the tour we were on. Josue (Joshua) was our guide and he was phenomenal. They picked us up outside the cruise terminal and off we went to Cahuita National Park. We saw an abundance of sloths (two-toed) and howler monkeys, some much closer than expected. We also saw a baby yellow viper. Not to mention the park is right next to a gorgeous beach. Next up, we went to a mock up of a banana plantation... as Josue explained, many of the crops grow better in the mountains. In addition to learning about growing bananas, harvesting them using a pulley system, and spiders... we also were educated on Cacao and pineapples. After that we went to the canal and took a boat ride. The boats were low and skimmed across the water. We saw more sloths (three-toed this time) and howler monkeys. We saw some birds, lizards, and then even a caiman. Would highly recommend this tour!

We had a great shore excursion with Greenway Nature Tours in Puerto Limon. Of the various trip offerings at this port we chose this tour and company because it visited sites both south and north of the port town, and was highly rated. Also, Greenway Nature Tours offers various tours throughout Costa Rica and we wanted to see how they ran tours for considering using them for a future land tour, and yes we would book a week or two with Greenway Nature Tours to see more of Costa Rica. For our day Greenway ran this trip in the opposite order, so that we avoided ship excursions going to the canals in the morning. On our way south to Chauita National Park we made two stops; one to look at a troop of howler monkeys and a sloth, and the other at market where our driver purchased local bananas for us to taste. At Chauita National Park our Greenway guide led us on a walk for just over an hour on a jungle trail bordering the sea, helping us spot animals and explaining about the plant life and history of this area. On our return trip north we stopped at a demonstration garden of bananas and other tropical fruits, and our Greenway guide led us through to see and taste some of the fruits. He also gave us free time to purchase food and souvenirs. From there we continued north beyond Puerto Limon for our boat tour on the Tortuguero Canals. During our canal cruise the Greenway guide and boat captain would point out the animals and birds (howlers, sloths, and crocodiles) and the boat would be turned so those on each side would have direct access for photo taking. At the end of the boat tour we were given fresh fruit to eat at the dock. We finished the tour with the Greenway guide pointing out some of the important buildings in Puerto Limon.
Thank you for your amazing review! We’re happy to know you enjoyed a responsible and authentic experience with us. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and it’s wonderful to see guests appreciate it.
What really created the five stars were the individuals that we were fortunate to have as tour guides. Our driver Steven met us promptly as we disembarked and took us up to the Veragua rainforest. Along the way, he pointed out many areas of interest and cultural highlights of Costa Rica. The tour guides at both the rainforest and the Tortuguero canal cruise were outstanding.
Thank you for choosing Greenway Nature Tours! It's great to hear you enjoyed the wildlife, the landscapes, and the service from our guides. Pura vida, and see you next time!
This tour was amazing and exceeded any expectations we had. Estevan was knowledgeable, very nice and went out of his way to explain so much. He made sure we saw the howler monkeys and sloths, and explained everything so well at the nature plant. We stayed busy all day though was not overly taxing on us. We were able to taste some fresh Costa Rica food, chocolate and coffee.

We were able to see so many animals and a variety of plants. It was amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable. It was a nice variety of walking and cruising on the canal. I highly recommend this tour!
Thank you for the fantastic 5-star review. We're thrilled you enjoyed our activity and had a great experience with us. Your support means the world to our team. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
This tour was organized well. It was easy in the morning to find the guide who was waiting directly outside the port gate. Franz was a good driver and purchased some small bananas for us to sample while en route to first stop. Joseu was a great guide who used his time wisely and made sure that everyone could participate to the best of their ability. He was attentive, personable and enthusiastic about the country and its many positive attributes. He was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and plants/trees. Between the three stops, we saw a few monkeys, many sloths, lizards, iguana, a local variety of crocodile and many birds. Franz and Joseu also gave us a short driving tour thru Limon and pointed out some local landmarks. All three tour destinations gave us a good overview of the natural highlights of Costa Rica and a little bit about her people, educational system, economy in a relaxed, low stress setting. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if Joseu is the guide!

The boat tour is just going up and down the small part of the river trying to see some animals. And the Cahuita tour is a 20 minutes walk on a beach trail. Nothing much to see or enjoy.
The tranporation was excellent from the cruise port and the tour guide was very informative. It was very crowded in the National Park, however we were able to see sloth, poisonous snakes, large spiders and organic banana plants and paprika plants. The canal ride was less desirable since the ride was very short compared to the rest of the tour. We did see some monkeys and a small caymen. Overall it was ok. We've been to Costa Rica before with Caravan Tours and that experience set the bar for us, so this was a let down. However if you've never been to the country, this tour was ok. The company did try to make everyone happy. They even waited for a couple of people that didn't show up in the begining of the tour for over 30 minutes which in my opinion showed they cared about their customers. (However it cut into our time). Anyway it's a company you can trust.
