Magical and magnificent. It was a feast for the eyes for the start of our trip to Costa Rica. Impeccable organization, incredible accommodation (Pachira Lodge) (in the forest with animals all around, monkey show from the pool), and our guide Erick Flores was passionate, captivating, and friendly to us. This was the most wonderful trip. Beautiful surroundings, staggering wildlife, the tour guides (esp Valentin) was brilliant. It was all well organised The reason for the 3 star review was that the trip was not all inclusive as expected, and the main arraction, which was going to see the turtles in the night, was another $50 per person. The rooms also were v basic was no A/C. Highly recommend the trip but budget accordingly

However, we would like to clarify one important point regarding the nighttime turtle nesting tour. As clearly stated in the product description, this activity is not included in the tour package. In addition, before your trip we informed you through our messages that the turtle nesting tour is an optional activity operated and sold by a local organization that is independent of our company. Therefore, the additional fee is set directly by that organization and is paid separately. All the services and activities included in the package you purchased were provided exactly as described in the itinerary. Regarding the accommodations, it is important to note that most properties in Tortuguero are nature lodges. This type of accommodation is designed to provide an authentic rainforest experience while blending harmoniously with the surrounding environment. As such, it is not customary for lodges of this nature to offer air conditioning, as their design and operation reflect the unique characteristics of the destination and its commitment to sustainability. We sincerely appreciate your recommendation and your feedback, as it helps future travelers better understand what to expect from this unique experience in Tortuguero. This trip was as advertised and 10/10 would recommend. The bus picked us up from our airport hotel and drove us to the boat launch. You have to pay for washrooms at the boat launch. The canal boats took us to the Pachira Lodge and Fernando, our main guide was extremely attentive and wanted to make this the best trip for everyone, which he did. The food was good, and there was lots of it. The only change I would make is ensuring the itinerary was acquired before leaving. It wasn’t provided before and was assumed we knew what lodge we were staying at/ what we were going. The rooms were clean, pool fantastic and the staff attentive.

The accommodation was nice, and the rooms were spacious. The river cruise was also nice. Overall, I found the group too large for the jungle tour, and the restaurant is also very much geared towards mass processing.

WARNING - the rooms do NOT have AC or glass windows. Be prepared to be very hot. The room is very rustic (but clean) and the beds would give a chiropractor a migraine. Food was meh at best. The drinks were good and around $7 which is very reasonable. The monkeys at the resort were the highlight. They will play along the building next to the pool and you can just watch them for hours. Crabs, frogs and iguanas all around. Got to see a raccoon as well. The grounds are nicely kept.

Beautiful river landscape with rich wildlife. Our guide had extensive knowledge of animals and plants. Hotel was rustic but quite ok.

The guide was great and the resort was beautiful. The schedule was relaxed which allowed time for hanging out and watching the monkeys and sloths in the trees! The only con was that the vegetarian options were lacking!!

This was a great trip! It made access easy by leaving from the airport or nearby hotels, and the staff at the lodge were extremely helpful. My absolute highest ratings go to Fernando. He worked tirelessly to meet my needs for drop off after the trip. I can’t enough about Fernando!! He made this trip a “5”, hands down!!
