Dies ist ein privater Spaziergang durch das jüdische Kulturerbe im Stadtzentrum von Thessaloniki, wo die wichtigste jüdische Gemeinde jahrhundertelang gelebt und gearbeitet hat. Obwohl heute nicht mehr viel von den alten Gebäuden erhalten ist, öffnet die Jüdische Gemeinde Thessaloniki aufgrund des schrecklichen Brandes von 1917 und der Zerstörungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs die wichtigsten Stätten, die mit dem jüdischen Kulturerbe zusammenhängen. Diese Tour kann morgens durchgeführt werden, wenn die Sehenswürdigkeiten bis 14.00 Uhr geöffnet sind - nicht Samstags & Feiertags. Ihr zertifizierter Fortgeschrittener wird für Sie genaue Besuchszeiten mit der Jüdischen Gemeinde vereinbaren. Eine längere Tour kann auf Anfrage auch mit privaten Verkehrsmitteln arrangiert werden, um die Ostseite der Stadt mit den alten jüdischen Villen zu sehen, sowie den alten Bahnhof, bekannt für die Holocaust-Deportation von 50.000 Juden durch die Nazis mit Zügen. Bei Besuchen des Jüdischen Museums und der Synagogen ist eine Voranmeldung durch Ihren Fortgeschrittener mit vollständigem Namen, Reisepass und Nationalitätenangaben erforderlich.

Die Monastoriotes ist die sogenannte "alte" Synagoge der Stadt, die kürzlich renoviert wurde und auf Anfrage und Terminvereinbarung für Sie besichtigt wird, mit Passangaben für alle Besucher. Der Eintritt ist im Kombiticket von 7 EUR zusammen mit der Jüdischen Museumsführung enthalten.

Der berühmte überdachte Markt von Modiano aus dem Jahr 1930 wurde gerade renoviert und ist jetzt geöffnet! Es beherbergt viele kleine Lebensmittelgeschäfte, die nach dem Architekten der Stadt, Eli Modiano, benannt sind.
Das Jüdische Museum von Thessaloniki ist in einem historischen Gebäude untergebracht. Wir sehen die Ausstellungen auf dem alten jüdischen Friedhof, Trachten und religiöse Gegenstände aus den alten Synagogen und eine Fotoausstellung zur Geschichte der Juden in der Stadt von der Antike bis in die Neuzeit. Im kleinen Museumsshop können Sie Bücher und Souvenirs kaufen. Der Eintritt für Museum und Synagoge beträgt 7 EUR pro Person.
Das Holocaust-Mahnmal befindet sich direkt am Meer am Liberty Square. Sie werden die Skulptur sehen, die den Holocaust mit sieben Flammen in Form der Menora und der menschlichen Körper darstellt, die 1997 von Nandor Glid geschaffen wurden. Sie werden vom Schwarzen Sabbat hören, der auf demselben Platz stattfand.
