Along with visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum and pyramids, we were interested in a beach experience during this trip to the land of the Pharaohs. With my research showing the Mediterranean coast too expensive and exclusive, the Red Sea seemed a viable and affordable option during our five-day visit to Egypt. And for the most part, it was. Sun, sand, a steady sea breeze cooling us off, thatch beach umbrellas - all quite beach-like. On arrival, we were ushered into a changing room in the home of the owner of the company that brought us there. Then it was out to the beach for 2 hours, at which time lunch would be served. Another hour and a half later, it was time to leave for Cairo - about 1.5 hours away (or less, if the driver puts the pedal to the metal as ours did on the drive there - at times fast enough to be a bit unnerving - on the return, I requested a bit more relaxed pace). However, there really wasn't a "beach" as someone from the mid-Atlantic region of the USA thinks of it - there was sand, but near the water were beds of smooth rocks, with large tubes of concrete running perpendicular to the shore, offering a walkway out into the sea. And no real waves - just 6-12 inch swells. Our driver and guide were affable and happy to answer any questions we had about life in Egypt. Suggestions: 1) give a quick raking of the umbrella area between guests to clear away the cigarette butts and other debris - maybe provide a trash bag at each umbrella 2) we were transported in a car with driver and guide - re climate change, what about transporting several people/couples at a time in a small van to save energy/pollution? 3) the lunch was acceptable - take-out grilled chicken and yellow rice. I had mentioned that we were primarily vegetarian (I should have been more direct) - but if it's a take-out meal anyway, why not provide a couple of options on arrival (within a price range) and let people make a choice? 4) maybe prime the guide to offer comments on various things passed on the way - the military barracks, where did the Red Sea get its name, issues related to the flow of the Nile, unsuccessful revolution of 2011, etc. All in all, we wanted a beach and got a beach - thanks!

Outstanding Private Tour of Cairo, the Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum! He answered questions, offered helpful recommendations, and made sure I had an enjoyable experience from start to finish. If you are visiting Egypt and considering a private tour of Cairo, the pyramids, or the Grand Egyptian Museum, I highly recommend Paul! Poor adventure for the price. Dirty amenities. High price. No accommodations. Not worth the money. Terrible

Our Guide Hamadi and Driver were great to spend the day with. They were very accomodating and took amazing care of us from pick up to drop off.

Horrific experience, I feel ripped off. Horrible hotel, dirty, broken, chipped also the beach full of tar. There was no one, a beach of stones, anyway a scandal robbery.

Beautiful. You cross the desert and arrive at the sea. Resorts in April empty, but the sea is fine. The guide very kind and very prepared, speaks perfect Italian. He accompanied and assisted us in everything.

Absolutely amazing day with very friendly guides. The water was crystal clear and we were served a great meal on the beach. We also saw plenty of dolphins!! Everyone was so friendly and it was an absolutely perfect experience. We did many excursions but this was my absolute favorite! I would definitely recommend this one to everyone!!!

We really enjoyed the red sea on the beach with my wife. Walkin and relaxing on the beach with clear water and sunny day is worth visiting. The tour guide Fahd is very friendly and helpful.
