Sunset Cruise Wildlife Watching Experience am Sambesi

We enjoyed the sunset cruise with Khanondo Tours & Safaris. The drinks provided were great, although the food was subpar. The two guides/boat operators were engaging and lively! We were surprised to be approached before boarding by a group of teens in traditional dress, dancing and playing music. We did not know if this was part of the experience. We had difficulty communicating with the tour operator regarding pick-up/drop-off. We attempted to finalize an arrival time at the pick-up spot in advance but had difficulty obtaining a specific time from them until the last minute, which made it difficult for us to arrive on time. We were traveling from Livingstone, Zambia, and we would not recommend booking with this operator unless you are staying in Zimbabwe.

The cruise was great. We were fortunate to spot Crocs on the banks of the Zambezi River, three elephants crossing the river, a family of Hippos, birds and even spotted a warthog from the boat. Above all the sunset was fabulous

While staying at 'The Palm River' hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River, we took a 2 hour long sunset Ra-ikane River Cruise from the jetty located right in front of the hotel. It was actually a luxury boat safari on the Zambezi River offering the opportunity of sighting hippos, crocodiles and sometimes even the elephants along with diverse birdlife. Though we have found whale watching at innumerable places including Maui (Hawaii), Ilulissat (Greenland) etc. and have thoroughly enjoyed it in several countries and oceans but watching hippos walking, swimming, playing and having fun in the Zambezi River and that too in such large numbers was a unique African experience. It was an outstanding and a not to be missed activity as you will not be finding a better hippo-watching opportunity anywhere and that too from so close.

Company offered pick up at airport. On place they want extra money in cash for it. Theay erote it 24 hours before.

There was a bit of confusion with the allotted tour operator on picking us up at the hotel. Fortunately we did manage to sort the problem out. The cruise boat Amazing Grace had already begun their cruise but kindly came back for us. Once on the cruise it was amazing...so pleased that my daughter and I got to experience this incredible tour. If in Victoria Falls a must to do.

Sunset on the great Zambezi ... the experience of a lifetime. Crocodiles, birds, baboons, and hippos. Must visit in springtime (Nov) to see all the baby animals.

Lovely experience and very well paid out and organised. The hosts on the boat were very good and funny and made us laugh as well as being gracious hosts. The ride itself was perfect, great wildlife to see and the sunset was stunning.

The staff was exceedingly professional and gracious. We were able to see crocodiles, hippos and birds. The staff was the best part of the trip.

Amazing experience. We were a family of 5 with 3 children. We had an entire boat for ourselves. Great explanations and driving from our pilot. Stunning beverages and snacks during the cruise. We saw crocodiles, hippos, elephants, monkeys, a giraffe and a lot of birds. Incredible!!

The best! We had a timing miscommunication, but the company went above and beyond to help. The cruise was fantastic! We saw hippos, crocodiles and elephants. Wonderful sunset on the river! They had a nice snack and drinks for us as well!
