Great way to see the city. Also used it as a source of transportation to get to the lava show and also bus station which linked me to transportation to sky lagoon. A wonderful thank you to the driver who took a bus load of carnival passengers back to the boat as we didn’t know the last shuttle was 5 pm. God bless him. He saved us from lots of inflated taxi fares or an hour walk.
Which of the sightseeing tour to get a quick overview of the Sydney. The bus drivers were courteous and helpful. Portions of the audio were not working specifically the female audio speaker. Other than that, it was as expected.
Great way to see more of Reykjavik. However, some of the drivers run the lights and miss stops. If you are on the upper deck of the bus and want to get off even if you have rang the bell, you need to make your way down to the exit before the stop. We witnessed the driver twice not stopping for guests even though they requested the stop.
We were asked to get off our bus 3 different times to switch to a different bus. After getting on a different bus it took an unusually long time to start moving again. We have been on many hop on/off tours and never had this kind of a poor experience.
Dear Patty, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are very sorry to hear about your experience on the hop-on/hop-off tour. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by having to change buses multiple times and the delays you experienced during your journey. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you are expecting a smooth and continuous sightseeing experience. Please note that while we always strive to operate our services as smoothly as possible, there are unfortunately situations such as operational or technical issues that can require last-minute changes or bus substitutions. These are outside of our control, but we fully understand how they can impact your experience. We truly regret that this affected your tour and appreciate your understanding. Your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with the relevant teams for review. Best regards, Rute
We were left waiting for over an hour because buses skipped stop number 6 and went straight to stop 10.
Hello, Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating and inconvenient it must have been to wait for over an hour. Our operations team will review this incident carefully to understand what happened and ensure it does not happen again. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards, Sesili

Not a lot to see on this tour but an easy way of getting around - the best part is they pull into the cruise port I didn’t like the fact they stopped at the stops for a minimum time- no one gets off to see if passengers waiting or coming toward bus, I was on way and waved - I know driver saw me but he drove off - not impressed and wouldn’t recommend
Dear Angela, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience on the Reykjavik Hop-On Hop-Off tour did not fully meet your expectations. We regret the situation you described regarding the stop procedure and the impression of the service at the bus stops. Your comments are very important to us, as they help us identify areas where we can improve both our operations and customer experience. We will make sure to pass your feedback on to the relevant team for review. We truly appreciate your input and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.
I wish these tours would go back to live people doing the commentary. The commentary didn't work on one of the buses. On another it was ahead of the bus and it was just anemic in general. If you want to buy the 48 hour pass, it's a decent way to get around the city but otherwise, it's a poor tour and doesn't do much to introduce you to Reykjavik.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with City Sightseeing Reykjavík did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the audio commentary. We understand how important it is to have clear, engaging and well-synchronized information during a sightseeing tour, and we regret the technical issues you encountered on one of the buses as well as the timing problems on another. Your comments about the quality of the commentary and the overall introduction to the city are very valuable. We will pass them on to our local team, as we continuously work to improve both the audio system and the overall visitor experience on our hop-on hop-off bus tours. We’re glad to know that the 48-hour pass still provided some convenience for getting around Reykjavík, and we sincerely hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to offer you a smoother and more informative experience. Next time visiting Reykjavik, we recommend combining your bus ticket to discover Iceland's natural marvels at the Wonders of Iceland exhibition, going on our Northen Lights Tour or our Golden Circle tour. We hope to see you again!
When I bought my tickets onlie, i received a QR code that said plainly "this is not your ticker" and that I was to go to Harpa to exchange it for tickets. I was told that Harpa would open at 8:30 the next morning. I pid the expensive price of a taxi only to find from others who had come with the same instructions that the place does not open untiol 10. I took a taxi home, and returned at ten. And was then told at the desk that they did not issue tickets. Instead I should just show my QR code on any bus at any stop. This was all the more frustrating because my apartment is two minutes from stop 7. We could have just gone there to ride the bus. Next, many people on the two busses we rode were seniors (as am I), but both drivers gave no attention to this. They stomped on the gas while older people were still finding their way to a seat. In the first bus an older man was actualy hurled down the aisle and had to be caught by other passengers before he hit the floor. On the second bus, an older woman sitting in a seat that faced outward toward the aisle was slammed hard against the wall to her left by the driver slamming on his brakes. In conclusion, I would say that this company needs serious attention to its pre-ride policy statements and the quality of drivers employed. Seniors need to ride with extreme caution.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your experience with our City Sightseeing Reykjavík hop-on hop-off bus service. We are very sorry to hear about the confusion regarding your ticket redemption process and QR code instructions. We understand how frustrating it must have been to receive conflicting information about Harpa opening times and ticket validation, especially after incurring additional taxi costs. This is not the level of clarity and convenience we aim to provide in our city sightseeing booking and boarding process, and we will review the communication carefully to ensure instructions are accurate and consistent. We are also truly concerned by your comments regarding safety on board. The experience you describe involving abrupt braking and acceleration is not acceptable within our hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus operations, where passenger safety (especially for seniors) is a priority. We take these incidents very seriously and will escalate this immediately to the local operations team in Reykjavík for investigation and driver performance review. Your feedback regarding both the pre-boarding information and onboard driving standards is extremely important to us and will be used to reinforce training and improve the overall City Sightseeing service quality and passenger safety standards. We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet expectations and thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.
It’s a good way to get an overview of the city. The buses have good audio narration that no one mentioned until our last ride when the driver handed out earphones. There is no set schedule and it can be 30 minutes or more. We waited that long only to be told the bus was full.
Dear Jill, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your City Sightseeing Reykjavik experience. We are pleased to hear that you found the tour a good way to get an overview of the city and that you appreciated the audio narration when it was available. Our hop-on hop-off bus is designed to help visitors discover Reykjavik’s main highlights comfortably while learning about the city through guided commentary. However, we are very sorry to hear about the inconvenience you experienced regarding the availability of headphones, waiting times, and the situation where you were unable to board due to capacity. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially after waiting for an extended period, and we sincerely apologise for the impact this had on your experience. Your comments regarding communication, frequency perception, and boarding capacity have been shared with our Reykjavik operations team for review, as we are committed to improving both service reliability and passenger information. Next time visiting Reykjavik, we recommend combining your bus ticket to discover Iceland's natural marvels at the Wonders' of Iceland exhibition, chasing the magical Nothern Lights on our tour ofr exploring the Golden Circle. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify where improvements are needed to provide a smoother and more consistent sightseeing experience. Kind regards, City Sightseeing Reykjavik Team
