Für den Bau des Komplexes wurde weißer Travertin verwendet, da nur dieser Stein in ausreichender Menge für ein derart großes Bauwerk verfügbar war. Das Gebäude selbst beherbergt das Cafesjian Center for the Arts mit Ausstellungshallen, in denen Dauer- und Wechselausstellungen stattfinden. Die Ausstellungen werden regelmäßig aktualisiert, um die besten Beispiele zeitgenössischer Kunst und Skulptur zu präsentieren.
Der Platz Frankreich liegt an der Kreuzung der Alleen Sayat Nova und Mesrop Mashtots in der Nähe des Nationalen Akademischen Theaters für Oper und Ballett nach A.
Der erste Spatenstich für das Opernhaus erfolgte am 28. November 1930 anlässlich des 10. Jahrestages der Sowjetrepublik Armenien. Am 20. Januar 1933 wurde das Gebäude offiziell eröffnet. Bald nach der Theatergründung wurde eine Balletttruppe gegründet. Schwanensee von Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski war die erste Ballettaufführung im Jahr 1935.

Nice walking tour. The plan is well drawn up, and even if you have already been to Yerevan - it will be interesting, as guide Anush knows so many facts, stories, listening to it is a pleasure and the route itself a little away from the main sightseeing tour.

Hello! I was in Yerevan at the end of May. The weather is beautiful. We took a tour of Yerevan and had a guide, Anush. A wonderful girl, professional, she speaks Russian very competently, literary, and I also found out that she conducts tours in English and Spanish. She is a very interesting person.
