Während der Sowjetzeit hieß er Lenin-Platz und auf dem Platz stand eine Statue von Wladimir Lenin. Sowjetische Paraden und Feierlichkeiten fanden bis 1988 zweimal (ursprünglich dreimal) im Jahr statt. Nach der Unabhängigkeit Armeniens wurde Lenins Statue entfernt und der Platz umbenannt.
Sie ist eine der ursprünglichen U-Bahn-Stationen in der Stadt Eriwan und wurde am 7. März 1981 der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Sie ist durch einen Fußgängertunnel mit dem angrenzenden Bahnhof Eriwan verbunden. Es ist nach David von Sassoun benannt, dessen Statue vor dem Bahnhof steht.
Bangladesch ist der Name eines Gebiets im Distrikt Malatia-Sebastia. Es ist berühmt für den Verkauf landwirtschaftlicher Produkte. Wir werden lokale berühmte Snacks probieren und uns über den Markt wundern.

Eingebettet zwischen dem Fluss Hrazdan und dem Hrazdan-Wasserkanal ist dies eine der vielen Kindereisenbahnen, die es in der UdSSR gab und die auch nach deren Zerfall weiter betrieben wurden. Sie wurde 1937 erbaut und war für Kinder der beste Ort, um motiviert zu werden und mehr über Züge zu lernen. Das ursprüngliche Hauptbahnhofsgebäude sowie die erste Lokomotive von 1937 sind noch intakt und erfreuen die Besucher seit fast 100 Jahren.

Very good tour to interesting places with exciting explanations and stories. A good complement to a self guided tour.

Worth the price if you have 3-5 free hours in a day. The tour guide will take you on the metro, buy you an old school Armenian snack in the underground of the metro, take you around a neighborhood with Soviet apartment buildings, and to an abandoned amusement park. It was informative and friendly. There ended up being two other attendees during my session in May 2026.

Despite it snowing and me being the only person on the tour, it went ahead and Marina spoke most enthusiastically throughout. Great attention to detail and the locations are well thought out. They are places a tourist would never think of going and provide a real glimpse of Armenian life from the past and present. Best of all was that this was an honest and objective overview of the Soviet era. Neither romanticising nor disparaging. This provided insightful discussion and comparison to the modern day and as to life in the west from that era.

First of all I have to say that our tour guide as very knowledgeable and confident. Don't think you're going to squeeze in any extra stops on this tour! In all seriousness though the entire route/tour/plan was GREAT. It was very methodical, well planned and executed. Our guide was very knowledgeable and quite nicely interspersed her personal history with what was going on at the time. For anyone who likes Soviet history, this REALLY turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon! If you want to know what "Bangladesh" is all about, you'll have to join the tour to find out :-)

We loved our half-day Soviet Tour of Yerevan. Marine was our guide and we were so grateful that even though there was just two of us--she did not cancel the tour. My sister and I enjoyed learning about the Soviet times in Yerevan. This tour was unique with a mix of walking and driving. I appreciated that we got to see and explore various locations around the city--such as a planned neighborhood built in the 80s, the Bangladeshi Market, and both the Railway Station and the Children's Railway (an entertainment destination in Soviet time), and we got to walk through the Kond Pedestrian Tunnel as well. Marine was most knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend her for any tour!
