The places (except the restaurantl) are very nice, but it is all very rushed. At the blue pond we had 30 minutes to get from the bus to the pond, take pictures and back. At the "farm" it was 40 minutes and at the lavender farm it was around 1 hour. We did not take the menu at the restaurant but only ate a la carte. The prices are premium but the quality is low. So we would recommend bringing your own lunch. If you only have one day and want to see everything I would recommend.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful locations included in the tour and that you would still recommend it for travelers wanting to see many sights in a single day. We understand your concerns regarding the pace of the itinerary. As the tour covers multiple popular attractions across a wide area in one day, the schedule can feel fast-paced at certain stops in order to maintain the overall timing for all guests. Your comments regarding the time allocation at Blue Pond, the flower farms, and other locations are appreciated and will be shared with the operations team for review. We’re also sorry to hear that the restaurant experience did not meet your expectations. Food preferences and dining experiences can vary from traveler to traveler, but we appreciate your honest feedback regarding the pricing and quality. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback helps us continue improving our tours for future guests.
It is a smaller tour operator, 18 person bus. Very personal and they take great care to make a fun day.
Thank you for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the more personal atmosphere of the smaller group tour. Operating with a smaller bus allows us to create a more comfortable and friendly experience, and we’re happy to know that this helped make your day enjoyable and fun. We truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you again on another memorable road trip in the future!
The tour guide and the bus driver were so nice and helpful. The farms were amazing and the lavender ice cream was delicious.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and tasty local treats during the tour. It’s great to know that both the tour guide and bus driver made your experience comfortable and enjoyable with their helpful service. And yes — the lavender ice cream is definitely a favorite highlight for many visitors! Thank you again for your kind feedback, and we hope to welcome you on another memorable tour in the future!
Only downfall was the flower farms were a little out of season, so if that is important, keep that in mind. But it was a lovely day and let us see the places that were hard to see without a car. And tour guide Jenny is awesome.
Thank you for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable day exploring the beautiful sights around Furano and Biei. Seasonal flower conditions can vary depending on weather and timing, and we appreciate your helpful note for future travelers. We’re still glad that the tour allowed you to comfortably visit places that can be difficult to access without a car. Jenny will be very happy to hear your kind words and know that she helped make your experience even more enjoyable. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you on another memorable tour in the future!
You should know that they will not refund you if you have a documented emergency situation. The no refunds policy their right, of course; it is what it is, but I would strongly recommend booking this tour with a different company that offers more flexibility. I got horribly sick right before the tour and had to go to a hospital ER for treatment and I asked if they could give me some kind of credit or voucher since the circumstance was a totally unforeseen emergency situation. The person I interacted with was nice about it and had me provide documentation to make an exception, but "the management" was unsympathetic and would not provide even a partial refund. This is a particularly problematic policy because it puts pressure on someone who might be sick and even contagious to go on the tour anyway, which puts other travelers at risk. I really think Viator should have a policy that doesn't allow that. In any case, there are several other companies who offer basically the same tour; I would suggest you try one of them rather than this one so that you can feel a bit more at ease that you will not be abandoned in an emergency.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and first of all, we sincerely hope you are feeling much better now. We truly regret that you were unable to join the tour due to a medical emergency. As stated in the booking policy at the time of reservation, this activity operates under a strict non-refundable cancellation policy. While we completely understand your situation and sympathize with the unexpected circumstances, we are unfortunately required to follow the agreed booking terms. Please also note that we did review the documentation provided and escalated the request to management in hopes of finding a possible exception. Although we were unable to approve a refund or credit in this case, we genuinely appreciate your understanding of the policy conditions. We also appreciate your comments regarding health and travel concerns, and we understand your perspective. Feedback like yours is valuable and helps us continue reviewing how we communicate policies and support travelers in difficult situations. We wish you good health and hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy a future trip under better circumstances.
Couldn’t find the bus. We missed it even though we got there 30 min early. We went to the exact location the meet up link brought too on google maps. One of the guides called to try to help us but he didn’t actually speak much English and had trouble describing the location he just repeated the subway exit and number but their not clearly labeled anywhere not even on the google maps. He texted a close up screen shot of the bus but it was too late. There are many subway exits and they’re not labeled in a way that you can see from a distance and the subway exit numbers were not in any linear order. We could not see it. We had run all over the park and around to each bus and they had left. They waited till 8:15 which I appreciated but it shouldn’t have been that hard to find them. After we missed it -about 1pm they sent me a map and a wider photo of the location. If they sent this earlier or with our tickets we would have found it because it showed the spot with the TV tower in the background. This spot is also not visible from where their link places the meet up on google maps. Or listen I know languages are hard and if I didn’t book the tour in English I’d never expect someone in another country would need to speak it but I did book it to be in English and if the male guide on the phone spoke better English maybe when he called to see why we weren’t there yet he could have given better instructions like if he had said “walk toward the TV tower and go to the right corner -why couldn’t they do that? Something with clear obvious directions. And Why not be out there with flags labeled and waving? Or hold up clear signs? This was ridiculous. So disappointed waist of money and we were so sad because we had no other way to see these tourist sites. :(
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we are truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience you faced. We deeply regret that you were unable to join the tour despite arriving early, and we understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been — especially when it disrupted your plans for the day. Your feedback regarding the unclear meeting point instructions and limited support in English is taken very seriously. We are currently reviewing our pre-tour communication process to ensure that more accurate maps, wider-angle photos, and clear step-by-step directions (including landmarks like the TV Tower) are shared well in advance. We also understand the need for visible signs or flags at the meeting point and are working on improving on-site guidance for our English-speaking guests. Please accept our sincere apologies for the experience you had. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with the tour experience you originally hoped for.
Our tour guide Hanna was very knowledgeable on Hokkaido and made sure that everyone was comfortable during the trip. The ride was smooth kudos to the driver. There were areas that were too crowded but overall, we are glad we took the tour.
Thank you for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that Hanna’s knowledge and care made your tour enjoyable, and we’ll certainly share your compliments with her. We’re also glad you had a smooth ride, thanks to our skilled driver. While we understand that some areas can be crowded due to their popularity, we’re happy to know you still had a positive experience overall. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon!
The bus was spacious, air-conditioned, and ran on time, which made for a comfortable ride. The tour was clearly geared more toward Chinese/Taiwanese tourists, and I wish there had been more detailed information available in English. That said, the guide was very thoughtful and organized, and we definitely saw more than we would have on our own using public transportation. The buffet was decent. But the highlights for me was definitely the Herbal Garden and Farm Tomita. The flower fields and scenery were absolutely worth the trip. Overall, a great and efficient way to spend a day exploring the area. Would recommend!
Thank you for your thoughtful review and for joining our Shikisai-no-Oka and Furano tour! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the comfortable transportation and the stunning flower fields at the Herbal Garden and Farm Tomita—truly some of Hokkaido’s most beautiful highlights. We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the language support. While we strive to accommodate all guests, we understand the importance of providing more detailed information in English and will be working with our team to improve in this area. Thank you once again for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure in the future!
It was our first time in Hokkaido. So we decided to take sightseeing bus tour which lasted about 10 hours. I’m glad that we were able to see some main attractions, but the whole experience wasn’t satisfying. The mini van was old and uncomfortable. The driver was very careful, but way too slow… Our group was small and mostly consisted of Chinese speaking tourists. Our tour operator was fluent in Chinese and Japanese, but her English was somewhat limited. The information given in English were minimal compared to in Chinese. I feel that she ( I’m sorry I forgot tour operator’s name) could give us more information about the places we visited.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Shikisai-no-Oka and Furano tour. We’re glad to hear you were able to enjoy some of Hokkaido’s beautiful highlights during your first visit. However, we sincerely apologize that aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations, particularly in terms of comfort and language support. We appreciate your comments regarding the vehicle and the pace of travel, as well as the limited English commentary. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and has been shared with our operations team for review and improvement. We’re committed to enhancing the experience for all our guests, regardless of language. Thank you again for choosing us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back with a better and more comfortable experience in the future.
After a busy 4 days in Tokyo, this day trip in Hokkaido was a perfect relaxation day. Beautiful scenery along the drive. The blue pond was beautiful and really enjoyed the flower fields and farm visit. Try the lavender soft serve and the red melon soft serve. So good and unique. A couple of shopping options with lovely lavender products. Lunch was just ok. Would have liked more options at the buffet. Really great trip though and highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that the Shikisai-no-Oka and Furano tour offered you the perfect relaxing day after a busy Tokyo itinerary. From the stunning Blue Pond to the unique soft serve flavors and flower fields, we’re glad you enjoyed the full experience. Your note on the buffet is well taken, and we’ll consider ways to enhance the dining options moving forward. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again on another adventure in Hokkaido!
