We joined the Cabo Shark Dive & Snorkeling Tour – Swim with Sharks in Cabo San Lucas, and we felt incredibly lucky to see a shark up close. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Our guides made us feel safe at all times. Their professionalism, experience, and respect for the wildlife were evident throughout the entire tour. We booked several months in advance and paid online. The entire process was smooth, and we never had any issues with our reservation or payment. It’s important to remember that these are wild animals, so no one can guarantee an encounter. Appreciate whatever the ocean gives you that day. It was clear to us that the entire team works hard to provide the best experience possible while respecting nature. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate. It’s an amazing adventure that’s absolutely worth it!
The winds in Cabo had been very strong all week and our original reservation for Wednesday afternoon was moved to Thursday morning. When we left the wind and waves weren’t too bad but by the time we anchored at the shark sighting spot the waves were six feet high and the winds were strong. The guide, Felipe was very good and obviously has a passion about sharks and how endangered they are becoming He gave very good instructions on how to behave in the water and what do do if sharks approach you. I felt confident in allowing my granddaughter to go in the water but I decided not to go because of the waves and he said there would be a strong current. Plus the boat only had a platform with no steps to get back on the boat. The boat was inadequate as it was difficult to get on and off with the depth between the pier and the boat deck. The toilet could not be locked from the inside. We were given no instructions on where the life jackets where - if there were any. The highlight of the trip Ironically was birds. An albatross came by trying to feed off the shark bait and made several landings on the water. Also the ships Mate was throwing up bait for other birds to catch. We’ve been on many sea escapes in Cabo and this was just not as professional as others
Hi, first of all thanks for the review, we just dont believe this review is accurate. First, we NEVER anchor on our shark trips, we drift. We saw 2 beautifull silky sharks that everyone else enjoyed in the water, our bathroom has a locker from the inside, and our boat is a mighty Bertam 32ft with 2 powerfull engines of 315hp each, this is one of the most strong and seaworty boat in the market. Also the space between the dock and the boat is the same for any boat since all the docks are all built the same way in the marina. Also the guide confirmed that you didn't want to go in the water to swim with sharks on your decision. I see too many complains here, It looks like is the first time you went on a boat tour in Cabo expecially because all the other companies go out with small pangas and the port has been closed the days before due to tge high winds..
It was awesome to see a mako in water and thresher jump out of water!
Thank you very much for your review, and yes mako sharks are AWESOME!!!
This was my 2nd time heading out with Cabo Shark Dive (my last time was 8 years ago) and they did not disappoint. They now have a bigger boat with big cushioned seats and shade. Communication through WhatsApp with Jack was clear and timely. The guides are always super welcoming and informative - I went out with Paolo on two shark dives and he was super friendly and we talked about food, culture, travel, and of course futbol and the World Cup while cruising out to the dive site. I had 2 successful trips, spotting makos and a mobula ray - the makos were super social and got incredibly close while not intimidating or scary in any way. The captain was great and gave awesome fishing recommendations to other guests. All in all it was a tremendous excursion and I highly recommend Cabo Shark Dive.
Thanks so much, you are always welcome here at Cabo Shark Dive
Crew, boat, weather, all were fantastic. Sharks just were not responding. They did NOT give up though! The lady running the chum worked overtime determined to bring them in. In the end we swim with 2 sharks and had an overall incredible experience.
Thank you very much! It was a pleasure celebrating your birthday with sharks!
We understand there is never a guarantee of seeing wild animals in the ocean. We did not see any sharks on this tour on December 29. The trip involved traveling far offshore and spending about three hours chumming in open water. Sea conditions were choppy, and several guests became seasick. This experience differs from tours that go to a known reef or established shark site. Participants enter the water in open ocean and wait to see if sharks approach. Our boat was the only vessel in the area actively chumming during this time. If no sharks are seen, the company provides a voucher for 50% off another tour rather than offering a return trip. Snacks (chips) were provided onboard. I entered the water for approximately 15 minutes and looked down into open blue water, which was a unique experience.
Hi Thank you very much for your reviews!. Yes in the unlikelly event we don't see any sharks our amazing crew do its best to make people happy adding some snorkeling on the open water or snorkeling on a beautiful coral reef, whale watching, etc.. We strive to keep our guests happy and satisfied on every tour!
Unfortunately, this has to be once of the worst experiences my family and I have had. It’s not just about not seeing any sharks, or even getting into the water….but it looks like you had some 3rd party boat take us out. The small boat was tosses around the entire trip by the ocean waves and the captain did a pretty bad job navigating through the choppy waves. Also maybe he shouldn’t be smoking a cigarette next to gasoline canisters with strong fumes in the air. MOST IMPORTANTLY, there’s no guarantee you will see any sharks or even get in the water. You might be on a four hour boat ride on a very uncountable boat on a very uncomfortable ride.
The boat is our 28 ft super panga, same as the photo on our website, not a third party boat, capacity of 16 guests plus crew and you were only 6 guests on board...we had a safari on the same day in the morning and evey guests was happy. Our guide reported that you slept the whole tour and he offered to get in the water, but you refused it. You said it choppy but it was 2 ft waves only..! The super pangas has outboard engines that works with gasoline, so there are not stong fumes in the air! Noboady else reported anyone smooking on board. Regarding the shark sightings, since we are dealing with wild animals, we cannot guarantee sharks sightings as clearly specified on the website. Despite we have more tham 95% chance of success, and despite our high qualified crew try the best to get sharks putting all effort and expertise in the game, we are still in wild environment, and sometimes sharks don't cooperate.. After read all your complains i can tell that this kind of tours are just not suitable for you.
We traveled apparently in the off season. We were so excited to swim with sharks but this ended up being a very boring 4 hour boat ride. Honestly it was mostly sitting. We were told it was highly unlikely to see sharks. Well, another person on our tour was doing this for thr third time and never saw a shark. We were offered a 50% discount in the future if we come back but thats not likely. I spent 400 for my son and I to sit and watch the water. We were only allowed to get in once for a few seconds. Our guides were gokd and they did try to lure the sharks. I wish there had been more warning about this not being the season for sharks and how honestly unlikely it was for us to view them.
Hi Amanda thanks for your review. Actually December is a good month for sharks, with blue sharks and possibly makos, and great visibillity and water conditions. We are in a wild environment dealing with wild, migratory shark species, so despite the big effort and knowledge of our crew, sometimes sharks don't coperate.. Statistically we have more than 93% chance to see sharks sll year round as our great reviews attest, in the unlikely event of no sharks sighitings we offer a voucher for another tour 50% discounted. The voucher has no expiration date so we hope you can use it next time you come back to Cabo. We look forward to see you again soon, thank you!
This trip was amazing, our guide Timo was super knowledgeable and was just as excited about the tour as we were. We got into the water multiple times and he got us up close and personal with multiple marine species! It was and epic adventure. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for your review, our mighy blue sharks are a must to see, a truly unforgettable experience you had! we hope to see you again soon!
We had an incredible experience with Cabo Shark Dive for their shark snorkeling tour. Our guide Paolo kept us all safe with clear instructions, but was also warm and engaging. He took underwater video and photos so we could focus on the activity itself. The rest of the staff, including our captain and Ana, were very friendly and helpful throughout. We were so lucky to see both silky and blue sharks, as well as swim with a pod of dolphins and see mobula rays somersaulting out of the water on the trip out and back from our anchor location. Just an amazing way to spend my birthday! As you can tell, we would highly recommend Cabo Shark Dive!
Wow, you really had a life changing experience during our Cabo shark snorkel tour. Fun, safety and education guarantee with our top notch crew! Thank you for your review!
