Beginnen Sie in Forte São Brás und erfahren Sie mehr über seine historische Bedeutung bei der Verteidigung der Insel.

Als nächstes kommt Santo Espírito, die Gemeinde, die das größte Beispiel des Azoren-Barockstils besitzt – ihre bemerkenswerte Kirche;
Abwärts geht es nach Maia, einer weiteren bekannten Bucht der Insel für ihre Weinberglandschaft, sowie Cascata do Aveiro, dem zweithöchsten Wasserfall Portugals;
Jetzt weit an der Südküste ruht ein weiterer berühmter Geosite zum Nachdenken – Ribeira do Maloás. Seine säulenartigen Strukturen sind das Ergebnis einer horizontalen Kontraktion, die beim Abkühlen der Lava auftrat. Ähnlich wie Giant’s Causeway in Irland, aber kühler.
Neben Pico Alto, dem höchsten Punkt der Insel, wo Sie einen 360º-Blick bekommen und alles, was Sie bisher gesehen haben, genießen können (wenn die Wetterbedingungen es zulassen!).
Beenden Sie die Tour am Praia Formosa, dem beliebtesten Sandstrand der Azoren und Gastgeber des ältesten ununterbrochenen Musikfestivals in Portugal, dem Festival Maré de Agosto seit 1984.

There are no words to express our experience with Henrique and his amazing tour in Santa Maria! I have never had a tour with a guide with such a limitless variety and depth of knowledge, plus a charming, friendly and spiritual personality! In the end of the day we had a unique experience, we adored the beauties of this island and we gained serious knowledge about the Azores regarding history, geology, art and natural life. My sincerest recommendation for this tour, it's absolutely unique, don't miss it!
Exceptional! Henry was a spectacular guide, we loved it. We were two friends traveling and it was a whole day to know the best corners of the island. All very nice, highly recommend!!

It was very excellent, guide is very friendly and showed the fantastic places, a pity I wasn't at Pico Alto because it was very fog and rain. But it was very fantastic. I really loved it. Congratulations to the professional guide.

The tour was awesome! Is absolutely recommended if you want something special. The jeep takes you safely across the island and the guide has all the information. Lunch was simple but just right. In the end, there are even places that can be reached very easily to explore on your own the next day. Thank you for this experience:)

This was a wonderful back road view of the entire island, filled with facts about the history, the culture, the flora, and the natural landscape. The home made picnic of traditional food was an extra treat.
