Das Dalberto Pombo Environmental Interpretation Center (CIADP) war das Ergebnis der Rekonstruktion eines Gebäudes am Anfang des historischen Viertels von Vila do Porto. Dieses Zentrum beherbergt das Anwesen des Naturforschers Dalberto Pombo, eines Pioniers in der Erforschung der geologischen und biologischen Vielfalt der Insel. Sein Hauptziel ist es, das Wissen über das Naturerbe auf dynamische und interaktive Weise mit pädagogischem und wissenschaftlichem Charakter zu fördern.
Barreiro da Faneca ist ein ausgedehntes Gebiet mit trockenem und lehmigem Terrain, das hauptsächlich zur geologischen Einheit "Formation of Feteiras" gehört und eine auf den Azoren einzigartige Halbwüstenlandschaft von gelb-rötlicher Farbe darstellt.
Im unteren Teil des Flussbettes von Ribeira do Maloás, anstelle von Malbusca, befindet sich ein Wasserfall in einem ausgedehnten Aufschluss von Basaltsäulen mit einer Höhe von 15 bis 20 m und einer Ausdehnung von etwa 220 m. Diese prismatische oder säulenförmige Disjunktion ist mit einem subaero-basaltischen Lavastrom aus dem Pico Alto Volcanic Complex verbunden, dessen Prismen von bemerkenswerter Größe oben abgeschnitten sind und einen sechseckigen Polygonboden vom Typ „Calçada de Gigantes“ aufweisen, eine vulkanische Struktur weltberühmt aus Irland.
Es ist einer der größten Wasserfälle in Portugal, hundert Meter hoch. Am Grund des Wasserfalls befindet sich ein flacher See und an einem der Ufer ein Ort, an dem Sie ein Picknick machen können.

We stayed at the bungalow in the campingsite for some days and all it was wonderful!!! Very clean and beautiful view at the sea!!! Marco so nice and ready to help with anything !!!

My father was born on Santa Maria, but he moved away over 50 years ago as a young boy so he didn’t remember his way around the island. Marco agreed to pick us up from the airport when we landed at 0700 and start the tour 2 hours early. The island is beautiful, and Marco’s love and passion for his home are evident throughout. A delicious lunch at a local restaurant was included in the price. Overall, it was terrific tour and the highlight of my families trip to Portugal. If it was possible to give the tour a higher rating than 5 stars I would. Thank you so much for an excellent day. I hope to come back in the future and book again with Paraiso Radical.
We do guided tours everywhere we go and most are exceptionally good but this was extra special exceptionally good. Marco made everything perfect. He is rightfully very proud of his island with all the history and details anyone could ever want. Yes, that is the job of a tour guide but you will find him to be exceptional. At the end of our Friday tour he came back to our hotel and said there was something he forgot to show us and came back in the morning to give us the free extended tour. If you want to rent a kayak, scooter or bicycle be is also your guy.

I had an amazing whirlwind day seeing every single inch of the island of Santa Maria! The tour culminated at Pico Alto rhe highest point of the island where i got an amazing perspective of the whole iland with stunning views! My guide was very personable, flexible and accommodating. I was delayed in arriving and he was gracious enough to change the date and even dropped me off at the airport because we didn't have time to ho back to the hotel. All in all a wonderful experience!
This was an amazing experience with a wonderful and fun guide. Marco was a local and well known on the island. He knew almost anything we could ask and was always willing to go wherever we wanted. Santa Maria is such a beautiful Island, literally ever turn was a post card. My husband and myself were so happy to be shown around with such hospitality despite knowing no Portuguese, we look forward to returning. PS he also dealt well with our 16 year old nephew.

It was a surprisingly positive experience!!!!5*!!! A kayak tour on the coast of São Lourenço, which is beautiful, we entered several beautiful caves and we were bathing on a beach, which only has access by the sea, with the right to a snack and everything!!!! Very friendly people!!! I highly recommend!!!
