Die Kathedrale von Metekhi ist eines der ältesten religiösen Bauwerke in Tiflis. Die erste Kirche an diesem Ort wurde im VI. Jahrhundert von König Vakhtang Gorgasali gebaut. Derselbe König gilt als Erbauer von Tiflis. Der Name des Ortes ist ein altes georgisches Wort, das "Gebiet um den Palast" bedeutet. Dieser Name ist ein weiterer Beweis für die historische Tatsache, dass sich hier königliche Residenzen von Georgien befanden.
Neben ihrer historischen Bedeutung befindet sich die Festung Narinkala auf dem höchsten Punkt der Altstadt, von wo aus man unglaublich schöne Ausblicke auf Tiflis genießen kann. Seine Geschichte reicht bis ins 6. Jahrhundert n. Chr. zurück, hat aber danach eine lange und schwierige Geschichte, einschließlich vieler Zerstörungen. Interessanterweise hat die Festung viele Namen. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte hieß es: "Die Festung des Neids", "Mutterfestung von Tiflis" "NarinKala"
Der Botanische Garten von Tiflis wurde auf der Grundlage des königlichen Gartens gegründet, der dort seit dem 17. Jahrhundert existierte. Heute erstreckt es sich auf 97 Hektar und beherbergt über 3500 Pflanzenarten aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt.
Der Stadtteil Bath ist das Herz des alten Tiflis. Es ist ein Ort, an dem das Leben in der Stadt begann, wo die ersten Gerber ankamen und König Wachtang einen Fasan tötete, nach einer sehr berühmten Legende über die Entstehung der Stadt. Dies ist ein Ort, an dem berühmte Schwefelwasserlöcher durch eine Schlucht fließen und wo noch Reste der Stadtmauer erhalten sind.

This experience was worth every penny, and the wine was excellent. We learned so much and had an amazing time! We had the most wonderful guide, Gerogi! We don’t think there’s anything this man doesn’t know. You can test this theory for yourself if you get him, but we still think he knows the answer to everything! Also he is cool!

We Had a great time touring Georgia for the first time,Along with Ana as our Guide, She's very well informed about the history,very polite accommodating and helpful.we started as a guide and ended as good friends. My family and friends had a very good time in tiblisi and batumi. Georgia is a free country and is a must visit tourist destination. Aana was our tour guide and was with us on all the 6 days. I visited Georgia in a group tour in Feb/ March 2022 and enjoyed a lot. Our group consisted of adults as well as young children (who were kept entertained). The way the entire tour experience was managed by Ana and her team was absolutely fantastic. We were, throughout the almost week long trip, treated with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Great depth of knowledge in explaining the historical significance of the locations. Definitely recommend them to anyone and would also be looking them up again for my future trip to Georgia.
It was an amazing and relaxing trip for my family this August 2021. Ana was our tour guide and she was excellent, she did know her work, place and its history very well. She is a person who actually cares for tourist, their views and accommodating time & change in plans accordingly. I have visited many places, but when to relax and ease of your mind, I would suggest you go to Georgia. Ana I would highly recommend for you as your tour guide if you need to know the history, culture, people, etc. of Georgia, she was guiding us on the days we had on our own what to be done and where to go as well. Few additional attraction we had booked with the help of Ana at a better price with her help, like paragliding, river rafting, etc. Ana is very careful with tourist safety, as we had gone with our 9 year old kid, it was Ana who took care of him and our safety all through the trip. We are planning to visit Armenia next year and my son is asking Ana to come there to be our tour guide :) We will definitely revisit Georgia during the winters.
I had the pleasure to explore Georgia with Ana in 2017 and had a wonderful time. Ana is a very professional guide, with a deep knowledge of both history and culture of her beautiful country. Knowing my love for local cuisine, Ana went out of her way to take me to the best restaurants serving authentic Georgian food. We explored open markets as well and I got to enjoy more foods and spices to take back home. I won’t forget the great dinner we had with a traditional dance show in Tbilisi on our final tour night. Ana went out of her way to make sure my tour was memorable, and I look forward to returning one day to tour with her again. Highly recommended!
