Sarnath ist eine wunderschöne buddhistische Stätte und gilt als einer der heiligsten unter vier verschiedenen Orten, die mit dem Leben Buddhas verbunden sind. Heute ist dieser Ort mit mehreren buddhistischen Tempeln, einem Stättenmuseum und archäologischen Überresten übersät. Sie erfahren etwas über die Philosophie des Buddhismus, Geschichten über frühere Geburten Buddhas (die Jataka-Geschichten) und viele andere Dinge, die mit diesem Ort zu tun haben.

Wir besuchen den Mool Gandh Kuti Vihara Tempel, der von der „Mahabodhi Society“ mit Sitz in Sri Lanka erbaut wurde. Dieser Tempel hat wunderschöne Wandgemälde, die von einem japanischen Künstler gemalt wurden. Dieser Tempel beherbergt auch die Reliquien Buddhas, die im November drei Tage lang öffentlich ausgestellt werden.
Wir werden diesen archäologischen Park besuchen, der Überreste alter buddhistischer Klöster und viele Stupas beherbergt.
Wir besuchen das Museum vor Ort, das das nationale Wahrzeichen Indiens, eines der schönsten Buddha-Statuen und einige andere sehr wichtige und bedeutende Skulpturen beherbergt.
An diesem Ort befinden sich die Überreste der Ashokan-Säule, die auch die Inschrift in Pali-Sprache und Brahmi-Schrift enthält. Diese Säule hatte ein Löwenkapitell mit vier Rücken an Rücken stehenden Löwen, das nach der Unabhängigkeit als nationales Wahrzeichen Indiens übernommen wurde.

Karan is incredibly smart and charismatic. What sets him apart from other tours is that he doesn’t just explain India and Varanasi but mostly importantly he was explaining things with a comparative approach against other cultures which shows his understanding and knowledge of not only India but also the rest of the world. Highly recommended! I took a tour with Karan to Sarnath. It was very good experience. This tour was really worthwhile, Karan organised everything for us from buying our museum tickets to grabbing us a delicious coconut drink/snack for the journey home. He was very well-informed and answered every question we had. We came away with a much better understanding of Buddhism in general, thanks to his in-depth explanations. Karan was also very considerate when we asked to postpone the original booking after we had a difficult night’s sleep. Would highly recommend!

It was very easy to understand, and they even came to pick me up at my hotel! After watching the puja, we took a boat ride to sightsee on the river! They explained a lot of things to me, so it was easy to understand! If you come to Varanasi, please give it a try as it's a great deal at 100 rupees!
