Eine spielerische, aber sehr respektvolle Annäherung an die indische Spiritualität in Mauritius durch den Besuch von 3 symbolträchtigen Tempeln, ihre Hauptgottheiten, Anekdoten und die mauritische Geschichte, von der Sklaverei und der Schuldknechtschaft bis zur Gegenwart, in der die Religion immer noch eine wichtige Rolle im täglichen Leben spielt. Warum hat Shiva einen blauen Hals? Warum muss der Lingam ständig bewässert werden? Warum ist Ganeshs rechter Stoßzahn abgebrochen? … Maha Shivaratree, Cavadee, Ganesh Chaturti, Ganga Snan, Govinden? … Was feiern wir bei diesen Festen? Hinduismus, Tamilismus? Welche Auswirkungen wird dies auf die heutige mauritische Gesellschaft haben? Sind wir kulturell so weit voneinander entfernt oder so nah beieinander, wie sich die Wasser des Roten Meeres vor Moses teilten, genau wie sich die Wasser der Yamuna vor Krishna und seinem Vater teilten? Wir bieten Ihnen außerdem die Möglichkeit, an den Prozessionen oder Gebeten an bestimmten Festtagen teilzunehmen und diese zu verfolgen.

Ausgangspunkt der ersten Maha Shivaratree-Pilgerfahrt im Jahr 1898, ein Hochort des Hinduismus auf Mauritius
Besuch des ersten tamilischen Tempels (Kovil) im Norden von Mauritius in Cap Malheureux, Beschreibung, Geschichte, Legenden und Mythen.
Besuchen Sie einen zweiten tamilischen Tempel, wo Sie eine imposante 15 Meter hohe Statue des Gottes Muruga bewundern können, eine Nachbildung der Statue am Eingang zu den Batu-Höhlen in Kuala Lumpur.

The tour with Eric was perfect. Not only I learned so much about the religion that I knew so little of previously. I also got plenty of insights on Mauritius, it's economy, politics, society. Was excellent to start my visit to the country with.

Eric, gave a fantastic tour giving us a very insightful into the Hindi religion and history. A very through-row tour of several temples. His knowledge of the regional is keep extensive. Highly recommend this tour if you interested in learning about this religion.

Et comme vous l'avez vu, nous avons très souvent toutes et tous une histoire commune, Poséidon et Shiva portent un trident, Ulysse tire à l'arc comme Arjuna, Krishna a été tué d'une flèche tout comme Achille, ... les exemples ne manquent pas. It was the most interesting visit of our stay in Mauritius! We discovered remarkable sights, beautiful landscapes and at the same time learned a lot. Eric is exciting and passionate , it was a successful and pleasant day, I highly recommend!

Nous sommes quelques-uns à promouvoir ici un tourisme différent, plus durable, plus éthique et plus solidaire, plus proche par conséquent de la population locale riche de sa diversité multiculturelle. Visiter un temple hindou mérite quelques explications, sur sa symbolique en premier lieu, mais la visite permet également de découvrir ou d'appréhender l'Histoire complexe de notre île. We had a great tour with Eric at Moris Otreman! He is both passionate and knowledgeable about Mauritius’s history and culture, and so full of good insights to share. We came to Mauritius hoping to get a better idea of the religious landscape of the island, so we took his Indian spirituality tour. Eric was communicative, kind, hospitable, and quite knowledgeable about the subject. Our only complaint is that we wish lunch would have been offered on the tour, but we had a great experience and I have no doubt that his other tours have a similar high quality. Having taken other tours on the island, I can say that this was my best experience.

Beautiful day of discovery of the Hindu and Tamil religions in Mauritius through the circuit proposed by Eric. Passionate about spirituality and curious about religious practice of Indian origin on the island, we were able to visit 3 important places, temples and Kovils, and discover the main deities of the Hindu Pantheon, their stories that attach to the major celebrations taking place on the island throughout the year. Eric knows his subject well and will not run out of anecdotes to allow you to know more about Ganesh's broken right defense or Kali's red tongue! We were also fortunate to be able to attend the Tamil celebration of Govinden, in honour of Krishna, at the kovil of Grand-Gaube in the north of the island. In the end, an informative and exciting day for those who want to go a little further in the knowledge of the island and its daily life.

Ce soir a lieu la dernière célébration de Govinden pour cette année justement, mais l'Ile Maurice n'étant jamais à court de festivals religieux, ce week-end se tient aussi la Fête de Durga, nous serons demain au Ganga Talao que nous avons visité ensemble avec un autre couple. Je crois qu'il est important d'appréhender la spiritualité à Maurice afin de mieux comprendre l'île et ses habitants et comme vous l'avez vu, l'accueil reste toujours aussi fantastique, même si nos croyances et nos pratiques sont différentes. L'essentiel, c'est le partage ! Cette immersion dans la vie quotidienne est instructive, pour soi également et témoigne d'une grande tolérance.
