Neto delivered, without question, the best food tour I’ve ever experienced—and that’s saying a lot. Starting the day with fruit in Quito was nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve traveled extensively, and this was hands down the most incredible fruit tasting experience I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The flavors, the variety, and Neto’s knowledge made it unforgettable. Beyond the food itself, Neto is an exceptional guide and host. His recommendations were spot-on, thoughtful, and clearly tailored with care and expertise. To top it off, he poured fantastic cocktails at his bar, adding yet another layer of fun and authenticity to the experience. What truly sets Neto apart, though, is how far he goes for his guests. A full week after our tour—when we passed back through Quito—he still went out of his way to send us an additional restaurant recommendation. That level of generosity and attention is rare and speaks volumes about who he is. If you’re considering a food tour in Quito, don’t hesitate. Neto is passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making your experience exceptional. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a highlight of our entire trip.
We LOVED our outing with Santiago. We got to try so many delicious foods while hearing about the history and politics of Ecuador and learning more about Quito itself. And getting to see cool street art and murals topped off the day. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed a really wonderful local food and street art tour with Santiago, who was friendly and engaging, and happy to share his knowledge and insights.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. The guide is super friendly and knows so much about the local food scene. We tried a great mix of tasty street eats, and got to hear cool stories about each dish, as well as the history and culture of Quito. We really loved going off the beaten path to unique and local places. This really enhanced the experience! It was not just a “tourist” tour. We even got a recommendation and reservations for an AMAZING dinner after the tour. We highly recommend this tour. If you are interested in the Quito food scene, do not miss this tour.
This tour with Ernesto was one of the highlights of our week in Quito! He took us to several hole-in-the-wall places, heavily frequented by locals. Not only did we get to taste amazing food that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to find, but we got a personal perspective of life in Quito and knowledge about the local/national culture. We especially liked that the tour ended at an artist collective space that highlights contemporary artwork by local artists. My husband had been wanting something that was reflective of local culture but with a modern design—and this was the place for it. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are curious about the local culture and food and don’t know where to start!
Ernesto was great. His passion for quality of produce in local dishes is evident in the selection of great eateries, fresh juices and locals. The food was amazing and with his chef experience, great advice and information on the way the food is prepared and condiments to use. He has great local knowledge and passion about Quito. Visited some great architectural sites as well. Highly recommended and don’t have breakfast before you go!
Great tour for both an insight on the people and their food. Do not eat too much before the tour as the tasting portions are very generous!
This was a terrific tour! We can't recommend this more highly -- super fun, not your 'usual' city tour, or even food tour, but going to the places where the people who live in Quito go, to eat the food that they eat, all while learning about the city and the people and Ernesto himself. It really was so much more than we could have expected (and yummy too)!
Amazing cultural and local food tasting with Ernesto. A must when visiting Quito. Bring your walking shoes and taste buds.
I really enjoyed this tour. Ernesto, our tour guide, was personable, knowledgeable, and spoke English well. The food was delicious and was representative of the foods of Ecuador. I would highly recommend this tour.
