Bitte beachten Sie: Dieses Abenteuer richtet sich an Reisende, die Herausforderungen in der freien Natur genießen. Rechnen Sie mit unebenen Straßen, schnell wechselndem Bergwetter und großer Höhe. Für Gäste mit schweren Herzerkrankungen wird davon abgeraten.

Reiseverlauf
Kommen Sie vorbei, um Lebensmittel, Wasser und Verpflegung zu besorgen, die Sie einpacken und mit in den Nationalpark nehmen können.
Wir werden nach der Fahrt entlang der Straße der Vulkane etwa zwischen 9:15 und 9:30 Uhr am Nordtor des Cotopaxi-Nationalparks ankommen.
Der Ausritt ist die erste Aktivität an diesem Tag für etwa eine Stunde / nur Ausritte innerhalb des Nationalparks.
Wir fahren nach dem Ausritt etwa 35 Minuten lang von 4000 Metern (12000 Fuß) auf 4550 Meter (15000 Fuß), um den Wanderteil des Tages zu beginnen.
Wir beginnen die Wanderung zum Basislager auf 4900 Metern (16000 Fuß) für etwa 1 Stunde, um das Refugio José Rivas zu erreichen. Wo wir essen und heiße Getränke bekommen können.
Wir werden hier bleiben und die Basecamp-Atmosphäre genießen und dann zum Parkplatz absteigen, um die Rückreise anzutreten.
Wir werden den Nationalpark durch das Südtor / die touristische Seite verlassen. Etwa 3 Stunden zurück vom Parkplatz am Vulkan

Abholorte & -zeiten
Die Abholzeit liegt zwischen 7:00 und 7:30 Uhr, je nach Ihrem Standort innerhalb des Stadtzentrums von Quito. Diese Informationen werden am Vortag bis 19 Uhr bestätigt, sobald uns die endgültige Teilnehmerzahl und die Veranstaltungsorte vorliegen. Sollten Sie außerhalb der Abholgebiete wie Cumbaya, Pifo, Tumbaco, Puembo, Sangolquí oder Tababela (Flughafengebiete) wohnen, können wir gegen Aufpreis eine Abholung und Rückfahrt organisieren oder einen Treffpunkt vereinbaren, an dem Sie uns über Uber erreichen können.

Horse riding was fun and it did feel “wild”, but very little guidance, however still accessible even if you haven’t done any riding. The walk up to base camp isn’t too exhausting if you are fit, however make sure to acclimatise a little

A great experience from start to finish, our guide was friendly knowledgeable and attentive, the horse riding was awesome, we really enjoyed riding around the national park on the local horses and the mountain hike was as described, not touristy! We felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. Definitely recommend those wanting to see the higher side of Ecuador and visit Cotopaxi Volcano.

Just a fantastic day from start to finish. Dario was a great guide and very knowledgeable. We were given clear instructions on what to take and where to meet. Horse riding was just fabulous. Little hiccup when the weather closed in and we decided not to finish the walk up the volcano but Dario took straight down to the most beautiful lake where we had a lovely walk and saw lots of birds. Really great tour. Had a great time horseback riding around the park with the beautiful scenery. The hike up to the base camp is tough but you are able to take it slow. I recommend hiking shoes as the routes are sandy and gravely. Fatima and Dario were excellent tour guides. Highly recommend!
