Sobald alle an Bord sind, beginnen wir die malerische Reise durch die atemberaubenden Landschaften rund um Arequipa.
Halten Sie an der Pampa de Arrieros. Wir machen eine Pause an diesem historischen Bahnhof, der einst ein wichtiger Knotenpunkt für den regionalen Handel war.
Wir betreten dieses Naturschutzgebiet, das für seine unberührten Andenlandschaften und vielfältige Tierwelt bekannt ist. Eines der Highlights werden Vicuñas sein, anmutige wilde Kamelien, die ihren Lebensraum frei durchstreifen.
Um bei der Höhenakklimatisierung zu helfen, halten wir in Patahuasi, wo Reisende einen traditionellen Inka-Kräutertee genießen können, der für seine wohltuenden Eigenschaften in hoch gelegenen Umgebungen bekannt ist.
Bei diesem faszinierenden geologischen Wunder entdecken wir surreale Felsformationen, die durch Jahrhunderte vulkanischer Aktivität und Erosion geformt wurden.
Auf einer Höhe von 4.600 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel steigen wir zum Fuße dieser atemberaubenden Wasserfälle hinab. Das kaskadierende Wasser, umgeben von schroffen Landschaften, schafft einen faszinierenden Anblick, perfekt für Fotografie und Entspannung
Rückkehr nach Arequipa. Nach einem Tag voller Erkundung und natürlicher Schönheit beginnen wir unsere Rückreise.

Mario was an excellent guide for the trip. There was a lot of time on the road from Arequipa to the Stone Forest and Pillones Waterfall, but the driver played music, which made the ride more enjoyable. The Stone Forest was lovely though some of the group members had mild effects from the high altitude. The place we stopped for breakfast and lunch was a good choice. We pre-ordered our choice so everything was ready when we arrived in the afternoon. The alpaca steak I ordered was very tasty! I didn’t walk to the waterfall as it meant climbing on rocks but others said it was nice. Mario’s English was excellent and he was very friendly and helpful. The driver kindly stopped for picture-taking of vicuñas along the way. All in all, a great day. We were picked up around 6am and returned to Arequipa at 5pm. I would NOT recommend booking in advance since the current price of the trip is €5 cheaper than when I booked online some time ago.

This was a really good day trip to tick off the Pillones waterfall and Puruna rock forest. The guide Christian was nice and ensured everyone was having a good time. Pick up was decent at 6:30am compared to some of the other early tour times. First stop was the option to buy coffee, coca candy, snacks and use the toilet. Then we went to the abandoned train tracks. Interesting site. Then breakfast at a tourist stop. Though humble in decor, the queso sandwich and mate de inka tea was really satisfying. The waterfall and rock forests were incredible sights. Lunch was at the same place. The home made quinoa omelette was so good with pickles, rice and hot chips. I was happy with the choice. The shuttle bus was a ride in itself. Very bumpy, off road driving but our driver was very cautious and safe. This is what travelling is. It takes you out of your comfort zone to try and see new things. I would do this day trip again!

Really cool. If you like hiking down a canyon and seeing a lot of interesting places at high altitudes and understand what one is experiencing in English and Spanish, in our case we needed English. However, the guide that we had , we had hoped to be able to speak English and Spanish well. I think that if you advertise the activity and pay for an English speaking guide because they tell you it is so, then that is what one should expect to get, but we didn't. The tour urself, the people, the food and hiking were great!

A very pleasant day trip from Arequipa with out tour guide Jose Jose who did everything and walked extra mile for us to feel welcomed and to enjoy out day and managed perfectly spanish and english explanation understandable and interesting. Took care of us as we have vegan and vegetarian diet. Highly recomended.
