Um 8:00 Uhr holt Sie ein fachkundiger Reiseleiter von Ihrem Hotel in Assuan ab und fährt in den Süden von Assuan, was etwa drei Stunden Fahrt dauert, um von Assuan aus eine Tagestour nach Abu Simbel im klimatisierten Fahrzeug zu genießen. Die beiden Tempel von Abu Simbel gelten mit ihrem einzigartigen Stil als Meisterwerke des alten Ägypten. Sie spiegeln die Herrlichkeit und Größe des neuen Königreichs wider. Die ägyptische Regierung und die UNESCO beschlossen, zusammenzuarbeiten, um diese Tempel vor der Flut zu retten. Der Tempel der Königin Nefertari wird auch Tempel von Hathor genannt, der Frau des Sonnengottes. Auf symbolische Weise werden die beiden Tempel, der von Ramses II. und der von Ramses II., genannt von Nefertari bringen Ramses II., Nefertari, Hathor und den Sonnengott zu einer Einheit zusammen.
Nefertari, auch bekannt als Nefertari Meritmut, war eine ägyptische Königin und die erste der Großen Königlichen Ehefrauen (oder Hauptfrauen) von Ramses dem Großen.[1] Nefertari bedeutet „schöne Gefährtin“ und Meritmut bedeutet „Geliebte [der Göttin] Mut“. Sie ist eine der bekanntesten ägyptischen Königinnen neben Kleopatra, Nofretete und Hatschepsut und eine der prominentesten, von denen man nicht weiß, oder man glaubt, dass sie nicht selbst regiert hat. Sie war hochgebildet und konnte Hieroglyphen sowohl lesen als auch schreiben, eine damals sehr seltene Fähigkeit. Sie nutzte diese Fähigkeiten in ihrer diplomatischen Arbeit und korrespondierte mit anderen prominenten Königen dieser Zeit. Ihr aufwendig dekoriertes Grab, QV66, ist eines der größten und spektakulärsten im Tal der Königinnen. Ramses errichtete für sie auch einen Tempel in Abu Simbel neben seinem dortigen kolossalen Denkmal.
Ramses II. schrieb verschiedentlich auch Ramses oder Ramses, „Ra ist derjenige, der ihn geboren hat“ oder „aus Ra geboren“, Koinē Griechisch: Ῥαμέσσης, romanisiert: Rhaméssēs, ca. 1303 v. Chr. – Juli oder August 1213; regierte 1279–1213 v. Chr.[7]), auch bekannt als Ramses der Große, war der dritte Pharao der neunzehnten Dynastie Ägyptens. Er wird oft als der größte, berühmteste und mächtigste Pharao des Neuen Reiches angesehen, der selbst die mächtigste Zeit des alten Ägypten.[8] Seine Nachfolger und späteren Ägypter nannten ihn den „Großen Vorfahren“.
Am Ende der Tour fahren Sie zurück nach Assuan zum Hotel des Kunden.

the driver arrived exactly on time. Everything went smoothly. They were polite professional and friendly
Easy to book. The mini van was very clean and comfortable, which was important as it was 6 hour round trip. There were 2 drivers, so one drove on the outbound journey the other drove on the return journey. We also stopped for a toilet break both ways. Drivers were very nice. Guide at Abu Simbel was very knowledgeable. We had lunch in a local restaurant before our return journey, food was good. Overall a very good experience, the long journey was worth the visit as Abu Simbel was amazing. Highly recommend the trip with Viator.
As described. Private car picked us up for about 3 hrs drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Be sure to ask driver to stop for restroom otherwise the driver will drive straight for 3 hrs. It was an amazing experience to see Abu Simbel. Truly worth the trip and price. Lunch was good as well.
It's a 3 hour drive to Abu Simbel and back. Our driver was very nice. Our guide at our destination gave us plenty of time to explore. Lunch was delicious!
I booked taxi to Abu Simbel for me and my wife in October 2025. Taxi was a sedan - new, clean and comfortable. Arrived on time. My special thanks and praise for our driver Yahsin. He was always careful to watch for what we needed, drove excellently and gave us our space (you start to appreciate this when you’re in Egypt). Can’t recommend him highly enough. We got a guide named Samir (I don’t remember booking a guide with the taxi) in Abu Simbel. We were initially pleasantly surprised as we had thought of hiring one when we got there. He was good with his explanations and knowledge of the history and carvings of the place. That’s where the good bit ends. Firstly he tried to push to buy Lunch which we refused as it was unnecessarily expensive and we weren’t that hungry. Then on our way back at a routine stop that every vehicle makes, he got into the car (not something we had expected) and started off with the pretense of telling us more about Egyptian history. This quickly morphed into trying to sell more tours to Philae and Nubian village, again very overpriced. Maybe its a company strategy and all guides do it but I can only comment on our experience. We understood the tactic and tried to say no, but he wouldn’t let it go. With another 2 hrs left on the journey, he tried again and again until I had to sternly ask him to stop. He then was very insistent on us writing a review before the journey ended. This is common for any tours you book in Egypt but got annoying pretty fast. He constantly messaged us for 3 straight days after the tour ended to write a review texting on WhatsApp at odd times. I get this is Important for their business but there’s a way to go about it. I’d have given it 5 stars if it was just the car and driver but the guide and his constant hassling to buy more things and the unannounced invading our space on the return journey has dropped it to 3.
