Die berühmteste der Paduaner Kirchen ist die Basilika di Antonius, wir nennen sie einfach "Il Santo". Die Knochen des Heiligen ruhen in einer Kapelle, die reich mit geschnitzten Murmeln verziert ist und von verschiedenen Künstlern hergestellt wurde, darunter Sansovino und Falconetto. Die Basilika wurde ein Jahr nach dem Tod des heiligen Antonius 1232 begonnen und im folgenden Jahrhundert fertiggestellt. Auf dem Platz vor der Basilika befindet sich Donatellos prächtige Reiterstatue des venezianischen Generals Erasmo da Narni, genannt Gattamelata. Sie wurde 1453 gegossen und war der erste Bronzeguss in Originalgröße seit der Antike.
Im Zentrum der historischen Stadt befinden sich die Gebäude des Palazzo del Bò, der 1222 gegründeten alten Universität. Die Liste der Professoren und Alumni ist lang und illustr und enthält unter anderem die Namen des Anatomen Vesalius, Copernicus, Fallopius, Galileo Galilei, William Harvey. Hier machte Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia 1678 als erste Frau der Welt ihren Abschluss. Die Universität beherbergt das älteste Anatomietheater aus dem Jahr 1594. Bitte beachten Sie: Selbstgeführte Touren sind im Palazzo Bo nicht möglich: Der Zugang zum Gebäude ist nur mit einer Führung möglich. Ich kann Ihr Ticket gerne reservieren, ohne Vorauszahlung.
Der Palazzo Della Ragione (Salone) mit seiner großen Halle im Obergeschoss soll das größte Dach in Europa haben, das nicht von Säulen getragen wird. Die Wände sind mit allegorischen Fresken bedeckt. Der erste Palazzo wurde 1172 begonnen und 1219 fertiggestellt. 1306 bedeckte Fra Giovanni, ein Augustinermönch, das Ganze mit einem Dach. Unter der großen Halle befinden sich zwei Jahrhunderte alte Märkte: Piazza Frutti, Piazza Erbe.
Auf der Piazza dei Signori befinden sich die wunderschöne Loggia Gran Guardia (1493–1526) und der Palazzo del Capitaniato, die Residenz der venezianischen Gouverneure.
Es ist seit vorrömischen Zeiten das kommerzielle Herz von Padua. Es beherbergt immer noch einen lebhaften und farbenfrohen Obst- und Gemüsemarkt (Mo bis Sa)
Es ist der dritte Platz im Herzen von Padua und rund um den riesigen mittelalterlichen Palazzo della Ragione. Hier findet auch ein Markt statt (Mo bis Sa).

Palazzo Bo' and Palazzo della Ragione engaged us - or rather delighted us - with their beauty, skillfully illustrated by Cristina with competence but also sympathy.
