Peter Bailey was outstanding. Introduced us to a different and interesting part of Sydney that a typical tourist would not see. We started off the day with the freshest scallop and tuna sashimi at the Fish Market. Then off to taste Portuguese custard tarts (which were even better than what we had is Lisbon), then Lebanese and Vietnamese and Indian food and Turkish baklava. Capped by gelato. No need to eat breakfast or dinner - you will be stuffed! Peter was prompt, accommodating and personable. Glad we did the tour!
I'm glad you guys did the tour also. It was a joy to see people really enjoying the tasty morsels I've spent time hunting out in all corners of the Sydney suburbs. Bon appetit!
Peter was a delight and we had a wonderful day with him exploring Sydney and the amazing food scene. Would highly recommend this tour and Peter! Thank you
Thanks Trish, this is a great tour for foodies, and people who think they might like to become foodies :)
Another seamlessly easy, fabulous food feast with Peter. I do not know how he finds these gustatory treasures, because they’re not on the tourist radar, thankfully. First up was Turkish sweets highlighted with dark and white chocolate, cherries, Nutella and fruits. Then it was back to the city for a wonderfully fresh, authentic Gado Gado (really delicious), followed by a delicate Asian chicken dish in the leafy residential suburbs of Sydney and an aromatic Persian feast featuring smoky, melt-in-your-mouth barbecued meat balanced with rice, vegetables and the most amazingly delicious tangy lemon drink I’ve ever had. All accompanied by Peter’s extensive knowledge of Sydney. He clearly plans your trip to ensure it exceeds your expectations and has thought of everything to make your trip an unforgettable and delicious introduction or continuing journey to the jewels in Sydney’s food crown.
Thank you Edwei. I'm thrilled you enjoyed this off-piste version of Sydney Doesn't Only Speak English. A toast to all foodies! :)
Surprising locations for multicultural foods. Peter knows where it all is, just name which you want to try - or take his pick. Have never had baklava like that before! Nor the delicately smoked chicken. Each dish was new to me. Hard to pick out a favourite, all good. Thoroughly enjoyable and hassle-free day.
Yeah, this town really can be a treasure trove of ethnic eating. So glad you appreciated the offerings, and thank you for your review
Fabulous food, and it’s all made so easy. This is a unique tour, showcasing the best of a carefully curated selection of cuisines, available all over Sydney. Peter is such a knowledgeable host, there is nothing formulaic, none of that repetitious “And we’re walking” or reading from a script. Not the herding or waiting that you expect in big groups - which means it packs more locations in, yet it feels relaxed and unhurried. And along the way, we saw some scenic parts that aren’t in the usual tours - driving over Madonna’s Bra (the ANZAC Bridge), the Parramatta ferry trip (our choice). So many memorable aromas and flavours. Mmmm… Oh, and bring a container to save some snacks for later. Well worth fasting for!
I reckon Sydney Doesn't Only Speak English is a great tour, and I'm so pleased you guys enjoyed it too. No need for breakfast or dinner, a lovely ferry ride back to the city AND Madonna's Bra! What more could you ask for?
A fabulously absorbing tour. Peter knows the most interesting parts of Sydney like no one else, and I’ve lived here all my life.
Thank you Edwei. I really appreciate you taking the time to add this review. All the best
This was the tour that I didn't think I needed and boy was I wrong! As a local from Melbourne I didn't have the best impression of Sydney, but Peter has turned my perspective around and made me fall in love with Sydney. This was a great tour to get inspired to explore delicious places. Pros: - Great selection of food - very well thought out and its great to have good food in places you would never think to go, especially if you are constrained by time and transportation. Peter is great with knowing the local spots and its a lovely experience getting to know the local owners and having that interaction that you would not normally get on commercial tours. - No need to organize, plan or think. It is great tour to do when all you want to is just to sit back and enjoy the ride plus eat! - You are in safe hands Peter is attentive and knowledgeable. He ensures the journey is good fun. Cons: - Not enough stomach space to keep on eating! - Could not eat dinner after the tour :) This is a unique and must try experience. I highly recommend if you are after something different and if food is your love language. Thanks so much Peter! It was a fabulous day and cant wait to do a another version of this the next time I'm in Sydney! B
Thank you B! And you're right that you don't need breakfast or dinner on the day you do this tour. I look forward to taking your appetite along to all those other Sydney foodie places we discussed :)
If you are looking for something different while visiting Sydney this is the tour. Peter takes you on a fully multicultural food exploration of Sydney. It is definitely a foodies delight as Peter takes you to numerous food establishments that serve styles of food from around the world. Peter is an excellent guide as he picks you up and drives you to all your food destinations. You will not be hungry after this tour. Please let Peter know if you are vegetarian before hand. Many of the places you will go and try serves meat but he will also give vegetarian options when available. The day ends with a stop at a Gelato store. All fees are included with the base price so you will not have to pay anything after you schedule the tour. Cant say enough about Peter and this tour. The food is excellent and Peters presentation and knowledge about different areas of Sydney is excellent!!!
Thank you, thank you, Marc! This is definitely a tour for curious foodies, and I'm delighted you both enjoyed it so much
This Food Lover’s tour with Peter was a welcome change from the type of tours we have been getting. We experienced Sydney’s multicultural neighborhoods through the eyes of a local food lover. The restaurants were well chosen; our foods were delicious; Peter was knowledgeable and personable. A must do tour.
Thanks Pat. This isn't a tour I'm often asked to do, but everyone who takes it thoroughly enjoys the experience. I'm thrilled that you did too!
