Dieses Höhlenkloster ist seit 22 Jahrhunderten ein heiliger Wallfahrtsort und mit seinen fünf Heiligtümern der größte und am besten erhaltene Höhlentempelkomplex in Sri Lanka. Da dieser Ort etwa 160 km von Colombo entfernt liegt, kann es bis zu 3 Stunden und 15 Minuten dauern, ihn zu erreichen.
Sigiriya oder Sinhagiri ist eine alte Felsenfestung im nördlichen Distrikt Matale in der Nähe der Stadt Dambulla in der Zentralprovinz Sri Lankas. Es handelt sich um eine Stätte von historischer und archäologischer Bedeutung, die von einer massiven, etwa 180 m hohen Granitsäule dominiert wird. 30 Minuten vom königlichen Höhlentempel Dambulla entfernt.
Der Pidurangala-Felsen ist ein hoch aufragender Felsen, der als Wandergebiet beliebt ist und einige Kilometer nördlich von Sigiriya liegt. Es ist ein geeignetes Ziel für mittelschwere Wanderungen und Anstiege auf die Spitze des Felsens und beliebt für den Panoramablick, insbesondere auf Sigiriya und die Felsenfestung Sigiriya. Etwa auf halber Höhe des Felsens steht eine riesige liegende Buddha-Statue, die teilweise aus Ziegeln rekonstruiert wurde. We had an excellent private tour to Sigiriya. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and stress-free from start to finish. Our driver was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about Sri Lanka, which made the long drive enjoyable. Sigiriya Rock Fortress was absolutely breathtaking, and having a private tour allowed us to explore at our own pace without feeling rushed. We also appreciated the helpful explanations about the history and local culture along the way. The vehicle was clean and air-conditioned, water was provided, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. Overall, it was a smooth, memorable experience and great value for a private tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sri Lanka and wanting a personalized, comfortable trip to Sigiriya.

I loved this tour and guide so much that I booked multiple tours! Excellent English!! Great sense of humor. Always on time. Looks out for the well being, comfort and enjoyment of his guests. Fantastic recommendations. Flexible and able to accommodate requests including helping me find and purchase needed products from a pharmacy and recommending local foods I never would’ve found on my own. I really enjoyed climbing the rock fortress and learning all the history. Don’t worry it’s a lovely climb with incredible views and plenty of rest stops if needed. The safari, boat ride, village tour and village lunch were INCREDIBLE!! OMG!!! I was debating between this tour and another tour company and I’m SO PLEASED that I chose this tour!! It’s not guaranteed and the safari guides do their best, but thankfully I saw a TON of elephants. The village family cooked an amazing and flavorful traditional meal and taught me how to separate rice from the hull, open coconut and shave it, and make rice flour. I think this may have been my favorite part!! The Buddhist temple was calm and serene. But mostly Sanchitha makes the tour!! He’s a fantastic guide!! I highly recommend this tour and company! I am a solo female traveler and I felt safe throughout and had a fantastic time!

I enjoyed the trip a lot. It was fascinating to see so many elephants living in the nature park. The rock fortress climb was a great experience too. Thanks to our fantastic guide who was able to adjust the agenda we also avoided the busy times there. I recommend the visit😀

This was the best tour we had over a three week period in India and Sri Lanka. Sigiriya was an excellent experience, so beautiful and loved the ascent!! The most unique aspect of this tour was visiting the village Kayanwela where we were hosted by Erandi & Kumuduni (mother & daughter) for a farm-to-table lunch. The food was excellent, gourmet!!! The flavors and presentation were a highlight of our trip!

Sanchitha @ Colombo provided an Amazing trip and local tour guide expertise which costomized to limited visiting time. He showed care, being nice and friendly and easy to go out with. We felt comfortable to stay in car for long period of time like being one of our friends and also back to hotel safely.
