Manche mögen es heiß! Hveragerdi liegt 45 Kilometer östlich von Reykjavik und ist die charmante Torstadt zu Südisland. Sie liegt in einem großen geothermischen Gebiet und wird wegen der vielen Gewächshäuser dort oft als „Blumendorf“ bezeichnet.
Die Stadt Selfoss ist in den letzten Jahren rasant gewachsen, viel schneller als der Landesdurchschnitt. Von hier aus sind alle großen Naturattraktionen im Süden Islands, darunter die Wunder des Golden Circle, die Wasserfälle und schwarzen Sandstrände der Südküste, in einer Autostunde zu erreichen.
Seljalandsfoss ist einer der bekanntesten Wasserfälle Islands. Er ist etwa 60 Meter hoch und atemberaubend schön.
Die Halbinsel Dyrhólaey ist eine 120 Meter lange Promenade, die für ihre atemberaubende Aussicht auf die Südküste Islands sowie ihren historischen Leuchtturm und ihre reiche Vogelwelt berühmt ist. Hier befindet sich auch ein gleichnamiger Felsbogen.

Ended up being a rainy day and Alex gave us an option to switch days which was super nice. We did not switch days and had the best time even in the rain! We visited so many great locations and had the inside scoop on how to get the most out of each place we visited. Was amazing all around 👍 glacier, waterfalls, cave, black sand beach and excellent transportation service.
Alex was a great tour guide! The 6 of us totally enjoyed the day even though the weather was a bit rough. Alex was super attentive to us in the rain and navigating the slippery rocks. Couldn’t have been better considering the circumstances!
