Ihre Tour in Sri Lanka wäre ohne eine Kulturreise nach Sigiriya Sri Lanka unvollständig. Sigiriya hat eine lange Geschichte, die bis etwa 477 n. Chr. zurückreicht. Nach alten Lesungen von Culavamsa wurde die alte Felsenzitadelle von Sigiriya von König Kashyapa ausgewählt, um seine neue Hauptstadt zu errichten. Es war ein einfacher Felsen, den er für den Bau seines königlichen Palastes auswählte und der sich dann in eine verblüffende Konstruktion verwandelte. Noch heute bleibt die Planung hinter dieser alten Architektur unentdeckt und hält uns hypnotisiert. Der König errichtete seinen Palast auf diesem 200 Meter hohen Säulenfelsen und verzierte die Oberflächen mit farbenfrohen Fresken. Der Eingang in Form eines Löwen gibt ihm den Namen Sinhagiri, der auch als Sigiriya bekannt ist. Heute ist es eine der meistbesuchten Touristenattraktionen und Weltkulturerbestätten Sri Lankas. Es dauerte 5 Stunden, um zur Sigiriya-Site zu gelangen.
Dambulla und Sigiriya sind die besten Nachbarn. Es ist der nächste Ort in der Nähe, den Sie nach einer Kulturreise nach Sigiriya Sri Lanka besuchen sollten. Der Höhlentempelkomplex von Dambulla, das Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium und die prähistorische Grabstätte Ibbankatuwa sind die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Dambulla.
