Dieser ganztägige Ausflug nach Pico dauert ca. 8-9 Stunden, in denen Sie die meisten Highlights der Nachbarinsel Pico sehen werden. Die Tour ist perfekt für jene Besucher von Faial, die nur ein paar Tage im Dreieck verbringen, aber Pico ohne allzu viel Stress besuchen möchten. Die Pico, eine First-Impression-Tour ist eine All-Inclusive-Reise von Ihrer Unterkunft in Faial, einschließlich des Fährtransfers, zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Pico. Abhängig von den Fahrplänen der Fähre verlassen Sie Faial gegen 9:00 Uhr und kehren am späten Nachmittag gegen 19:00 Uhr zurück. Zur Mittagszeit machen wir ein reichhaltiges Picknick in einem der Erholungsparks von Pico.
Die Tour beginnt an Ihrer Unterkunft, von wo aus Sie zum Fährhafen von Horta für die Überfahrt nach Pico fahren. Auf Pico liegen zwischen den Attraktionen Fahrten von 15 bis 30 Minuten. Am Ende der Tour nehmen Sie wieder die Fähre zurück nach Horta und werden an Ihrer Unterkunft abgesetzt.
Fährtransfer von Horta in Faial nach Madalena do Pico. Fähren sind das ganze Jahr über in Betrieb und eine wichtige Verbindung zwischen den Inseln des Dreiecks.
Die Weinberge von Criação Velha rund um Madalena beherbergen vulkanische Weine, die im letzten Jahrzehnt wieder auferstanden sind. Die Weinberge wurden 2004 zum UNESCO-Welterbe erklärt, der Wein wird direkt im Vulkangestein in kleinen Parzellen angebaut, die durch kleine Felswände vor dem Wind geschützt sind.
Das kleine Porto do Calhau ist einer der vielen kleinen Häfen rund um die Insel. Es bietet einen schönen Blick hinüber nach Faial und an windigen Tagen brechen die Wellen spektakulär auf die Vulkanfelsen.
Der Leuchtturm Farol de São Mateus bietet einen spektakulären Blick auf die Südküste von Pico. Wenn Sie Glück haben, können Sie sogar einen Wal oder Delfine entdecken.
Lajes do Pico war früher das Zentrum des Walfangs an der Südküste, heute ist es einer der wichtigsten Ausgangspunkte für eine Walbeobachtungstour. Die kleine Stadt lädt zum Bummeln ein.
Der Lagoa do Capitão ist einer von vielen kleinen Seen, von denen aus man die Majestät des Berges Pico bewundern kann. Die Seen beherbergen eine reiche Vogelwelt, umgeben von grünen Weiden.
Der kleine Waldpark in Prainha ist ein perfekter Ort für ein Picknick mit Blick auf die benachbarte Insel São Jorge. Für Kinder gibt es sogar einen kleinen Spielplatz.
São Roque do Pico an der Nordküste ist die zweite Walfangstation auf Pico. Die Pisten rund um São Roque haben einen ganz anderen Charakter, mit all den Kühen fühlt man sich wie in den Alpen.
Cais do Mourato an der Nordküste von Pico ist geprägt von den Adegas, kleinen Felsenhäusern, der Winzer von Pico. Zwischen den Lavafelsen gibt es mehrere natürliche Schwimmbäder.
Madalena, umgeben von den Weinbergen des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes, ist eine charmante Küstenstadt. Von Madalena hat man einen der besten Ausblicke auf Faial.

What a fantastic day! Andreas was extremely knowledgeable about Pico, Faial, and the Azores in general and an enthusiastic guide. Everything went smoothly with ferries to/from Pico. We visited most areas of the island, with stops at many beautiful and interesting places, with amazing views and rich culture/history. His local perspective added so much depth to the tour. The picnic lunch was delicious and at a spot with a stunning vista! Highly recommend!

The owner and operator of this company is a kindly and generous man—a local resident on Faial Island. His wife makes yummy lunch for you and he brings plenty of water, wine and beer for the journey. The sights are beautiful if you have the sun cooperating. The UNESCO wine area is interesting too as there are only a few of these in existence. I used this gentlemen for both a tour of Faial and Pico Islands. As long as you have managed expectations (These are not Flores and Corvo) and good weather I'm sure you won't be disappointed. The trips are quite pricey for a solo traveler but one must understand that this is the cost of a private tour. I'm sure you will enjoy your time :) Happy adventuring!
