My teen son and I had an amazing day with Kristin. He is a great guide and an enjoyable fellow. He was ready to pick us up at our hotel in Reykjavik as planned. He put us on fish right away and was quick to get the right flies on the line, so we could get their attention. Arctic char was on my list and I have checked it off now. I also really appreciated how well he coached my 16 yr old son. He effectively and patiently worked with him and celebrated the fishes he caught. It was great to see my son feel successful and enjoying the day. Kristin has great skills as a fisherman and with people. What more can you ask for in a fishing guide!?!!
Thankyou to Unnar,Gummi and Kristen for a fantastic time in Iceland. All appointments were met dead on time and communications in Iceland next to instant. The fishing was spectacular many days catching multiple amounts of fish some often very large. It's not often you can catch the fish of your dreams then catch another and another straight after it Your guide is a "proper" guide and she or he will put you on fish even in the most challenging circumstances and feel more pleased than you at your catch. The fishing was only a part of the experience as we were placed in chic hotels and taken to many of Iceland star attractions in between fishing. Is it expensive.....yes Is it worth it .......yes. You can try and do this on the cheap however the guides knowledge and Angling Is. Portfolio of venues will ensure you get maximum bang for your buck. Already looking forward to my next trip. My son and I are first time fly fishers and we were met by our guide Kristinn in the morning at our pre arranged location and what transpired from there was nothing short of magical!!! A morning introduction to the craft and we were off and running!!! By days end we had landed a total of 14 fish ( wild arctic char and brown trout) and missed another few!? Haha! Our guide Kristinn, owner of Anglers was kind and friendly, genuine and patient and the consummate professional putting us on the action and being the camera person as well. 30 years of fly fishing experience will do that! Thanking Anglers.is for the priceless experience and memories to last a lifetime Wishing you all the success and a busy season of tight lines!!! By the way, the weather was 20/10! Warmer than back in Canada!!!
Kristinn and Anton were fantastic guides for my husband and 3 boys that went out fishing just a few days after the season opened. Would highly recommend.
We booked an amazing 2 day guided fly fishing trip with Anglers. It was beyond our expectations. Anton, our fishing guide really knew his rivers and the fish. We were very lucky to get him on both days we fished. We caught some amazing char. This was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you Anglers
After my wife surprised me for my 40th birthday last year with a trip to Iceland flyfishing. I booked my trip with anglers.is for this year almost to the day. I was more than Impressed with the days fishing i had with myself and my 12 year old son. Our guide Unnur was only outstanding she helped us so much throughout the day.we lost some fish but caught more than we lost. With some very nice fish landed. Thank you Anglers.is I would highly recommend using them.
Excellent five day fly fishing trip to Iceland with Kristinn Ingolfsson and Anglers.is. I wanted part guided and part unguided, which is what we did. Kristinn was an excellent, patient guide, and varied the program even at short notice to provide the best fishing, and the type of locations I preferred. Excellent communication throughout the planning, and great choice of accommodation. Great local knowledge. I would definitely recommend.
We were on a 10 day tour of Iceland. We had to get everything in as much as we could and me being an avid fisherman had to book a one day adventure. We hit the jackpot with our guide Kristinn. He picked us up at our hotel in Reykjavik and took us to a private location. It was a rainy windy day on and off and we still smashed arctic char and brown trout. I highly recommend them and just wished I had more time to fish with him. Blessings
We had a really great time! Between the two of us, we caught over 20 fish while fly fishing. We were well taken care of, and I'd rate this as one of the top fishing experiences I've ever experienced. Thanks for the awesome trip!
It's a lot to spend for what you get especially when not salmon fishing. My price did not include pick up since I was camping in the area. Strengths: Guide was great with clients, coaching, education, and spotting fish Average: Equipment was fine but not exceptional ie. Redington not Sage, Orvis, Winston, Simms etc. Weaknesses: 6 hours fishing for almost $1000 US for char? Actual fishing time was 9AM-3PM. Communication for guide service was poor. Had to keep reaching out to get info on what, where, and when on the trip. Underwhelming for the price. Maybe owner or admin has too many guides to handle.
