Some of the sections are very steep, so definitely recommend purchasing the chair ride up so you’re not tired before getting up there! I paid extra for the chair up and since I’m used to hiking I finished the journey in 2hours 15 mins. It is a 2.5 hour drive from Beijing but the car was very comfortable with a very pleasant and helpful driver. Car was spotless and driver Wu Jiangua made sure to communicate with me well and was attentive!1

The great wall was amazing and the dinner recommendation was also phenomenal!! The driver helped pay for the gondola ahead of time so we only had to scan our passport once we got there
