We spent our day touring towards Otavalo. We took a very comfortable tour bus & had an awesome tourguide "Jorge", whom was very knowledgeable , friendly & accommodating. He was fluent in both Spanish & English which was great for our non spanish speaking granddaughter. Very enjoyable trip. Well worth it.Thank you, Jorge for a beautiful day.
We had an amazing day trip and enjoyed every moment of it. The scenery, activities, and overall organization were excellent, making it a truly memorable experience. A special thank you to our guide, Ernesto, who made the day exceptional. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Throughout the trip, he shared fascinating information about the history, culture, and nature of the area, answered all of our questions with enthusiasm, and made sure we felt comfortable and included. His positive attitude and passion really enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this tour, and if you have the chance to go with Ernesto, you’re in great hands!
The excursion was very good and the Otavalo market is very much worth it. I didn't plan on buying anything because I traveled with a small suitcase, but in the end I bought a few things. I want to thank Jorge (guide) and Félix (driver) for their attention and professionalism.
We had a great time with our guide Jorge and driver Don Patricio. They were very kind in accommodating my 3-month-old baby, and the tour was very beautiful.
Our guide Jorge was absolutely fantastic and spoke perfectly English. Very welcoming and friendly. Can definitely recommend this trip.
Very well organized. Grace coordinated with me via WhatsApp from a couple days before the date of the trip and handed off to Jorge as the tour guide. Jorge was superb. Very friendly, knowledgeable and thoroughly professional managing the logistics. Jorge helped create camaraderie within the group and was vital to this great experience. Loved the places we stopped at even more than the market. This tour had the best itinerary, in my opinion, of the ones we considered for the Otavalo day trip.
So glad we booked our Otavalo tour at the last minute. The communication with the Quito Tour Bus company was timely via WhatsApp. Our tour van was clean and comfortable. On our trip we had 7 customers from different part of the world. Our driver Ivan is professional. Our bilingual guide Pam was amazing! She has such a genuine and warmth personality, and her presentation is engaging and she is able to showcase the history and culture of Ecuador and the Otavolo people. The several stops along the way are also interesting, especially loves the warm bizcochos from the Cafe Ecuatorial!. Highly recommended day tour from Quito
The organization of this tour was very good. We were given the meeting point clearly, and the minibus was on time. We visited the equator for breakfast (with an interesting demonstration), a lake for views (though too cloudy to be perfect), a waterfall (not spectacular, but worth the 15 minutes walk both ways), next to see some traditional instruments (though only one person played for us), then the famous market. There was a recommended restaurant for lunch which some of the group took advantage of, but it still left 90 minutes for the market - longer for those who did their own thing. We got back at 5.30 - it is a long day out with a lot of driving, but not as much as 12 hours. Jorge our guide was interesting and enthusiastic and kept us all involved in English and Spanish.
It was a wonderful way to explore equator outside of Quito. Loved that cayambe and the equator are not so crowded and touristy. Loved all we did. Only two suggestions. Instead of preordering lunch and having an hour and a half at the market I’d suggest eating lunch and then setting a more reasonable amount of time at the market in otavalo. Secondly the drive back to Quito from otavalo was way too long. If it could have been broken up at some point it would have been better.
