Ein Schlachtfeld voller Geschichte, Rebellion und unruhiger Geister Osaka Castle ist einer der dramatischsten Kriegsschauplätze Japans und genau deshalb funktioniert es als schauriger Vorband Ihrer Geistertour. Die Festung wurde Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts von Toyotomi Hideyoshi erbaut und wurde Schauplatz der Belagerung von Osaka (1614–1615), einem der blutigsten Konflikte der Samurai-Ära. Als der Toyotomi-Clan fiel, starben Tausende Soldaten, Retainer und Zivilisten innerhalb und um die Mauern. Die Folklore sagt, Orte, die durch plötzlichen, gewaltsamen Tod geformt sind, fangen spirituelle Energie ein und Schloss Osaka ist der Lehrbuchfall.
Namba ist Osakas lautester, hellster Spielplatz bei Tag und Nacht. Comedy-Theater, beschilderte Kanäle, Shopping Arkaden und endlose Seitenstraßen machen es unaufhaltsam. Genau deshalb funktioniert es auf einer Geistertour so gut. In der Japanischen Folklore wird angenommen, dass Orte des ständigen Wiederaufbaus, Brände, Hinrichtungen, Flusstote und Unterhaltungsviertel spirituelle Rückstände auffangen. Namba hat alle vier in seiner langen Geschichte als südliches Drehkreuz Osakas.

Terri was fantastic! Despite a double typhoon forecast she did her utmost to keep the tour going. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Osaka castle as well as add creepy ghost stories along the way. Would definitely recommend going on this tour.

Teri was a great guide! Very informative and personable. The tour itself was haunting. Learned a lot about Japanese history (1500-2000). My favorite story was about the phone booth.

This was such a fun way to explore Osaka and learn about the dark history of the places we visited. If you're visiting Osaka and looking for something a little different from the usual tourist checklist, the Osaka Ghost Tour is an experience I would highly recommend, especially for families with older children who enjoy a good story. We joined the tour hoping to discover a side of Osaka beyond the bright lights, shopping streets, and famous food spots, and it exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Terri, was absolutely fantastic. She has a wonderful way of blending the rich history surrounding Osaka Castle with the city's fascinating urban legends and ghost stories. Rather than feeling like a history lesson or a haunted attraction, the tour struck the perfect balance between educational, entertaining, and just spooky enough to keep everyone engaged. What really stood out was how Terri brought the stories to life. As we walked through the area, she connected historical events, local folklore, and modern-day sightings in a way that made us see Osaka from an entirely new perspective. Even our family members who are usually difficult to impress were captivated from start to finish. And if you're lucky, you may even experience a few "sightings" of your own. We certainly had a couple of moments during the evening that left us wondering whether there was more to the stories than mere legend. Whether it was imagination, coincidence, or something else entirely, it added an unforgettable layer to the experience. The Osaka Ghost Tour gave us something increasingly rare while travelling: a genuinely unique family memory. Long after we've forgotten which shops we visited or what train we took, we'll still be talking about the stories, the atmosphere, and the mysterious moments we shared together that night. Such a unique experience! The route was beautiful at night, and the stories gave me chills in the best way possible. Our guide Teri was the best! I loved how she combined real historical events with Japanese folklore, ghost stories and many more. I was looking over my shoulder for the rest of the evening!
Love love love this tour with Teri. She knows so much, about what she tells and the questions i had. I got the chills with some storys she told. And it was nice to know more about the place we went. Ghost story's, urban legende and some historical fact she told. Would really recommend this tour. But beware that it can be really creepy. But i love that.
