Reiseverlauf

The main spot to see the Northern Lights was questionable - next to a busy road with too many tour buses idling right next to us with lights on and a lot of light pollution. It was not "hunting for the Northern Lights" but going to a designated spot where all buses go and provide you with a watery hot chocolate. The lights were great that evening, and we saw them from one improvised stop on the road and from the window of the bus, but the location where they took as us had the worst viewing. I wish we just stopped on the road insted!
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you were able to see the Northern Lights that evening. We are sorry that the main viewing location did not meet your expectations. Northern Lights tours do not use one fixed location every night; the guide chooses locations based on cloud cover, road conditions, safety, and where the forecast gives the best chance of seeing the aurora. On busy nights, other tour vehicles may also arrive at the same accessible viewing areas, which can affect the atmosphere. The improvised roadside stop you mentioned was also part of that same effort to find better viewing conditions during the evening. We understand that you preferred that location and that the busier stop felt less enjoyable. We have also noted your comments about the hot chocolate and the amount of light from nearby vehicles. We are sorry these details affected what was otherwise a successful night of aurora viewing.
Wow! Such a good trip! We got to see lots of Northern lights at two stops! Guide was helpful and took photos and checked in with us! Would book again!
The pick up was completely chaotic... approximately 100 people standing around waiting for buses with no direction as to which was theirs. One softly spoken guide (Petra, as we later ascertained) reading out names which no one could hear. I discovered the next morning that I had been sent an email telling me that I hadn't turned up! All other communication had been via WhatsApp... who is checking emails stood at a bus stop at 9pm in the rain...? Once the tour was underway, however, Petra was very informative and knowledgeable. We went to three different locations and had excellent visibility of the lights at the first two. Well worth it!
Tour guide was an expert and spent the whole ride there explaining the science of the Aurora. We were given tips on how to get the best photos. And the lights themself were breathtaking!
We went on the last night to see the Northern Lights and we saw them! Our tour guide was absolutely amazing and his passion was evident! It was cold, but he stood out there the entire time, and would run to the bus if he saw something! He was extremely optimistic and knowledgeable and was able to help us see something truly breathtaking!
This was the most incredible experience. The tour guide was so knowledgeable about the auras. They took us to a remote location out by the lighthouse where it was really dark and we were able to see the auras. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.
We had a great Tour with Axel , though we did not see the Northern light, but we learned a lot
We were lucky on April 20th and were treated to a spectacular northern light show. Might be once in a lifetime for us and so grateful the tour ran late into the season. It was a late night but so worth it.
It was an amazing experience including us going off road and a little scare with a tire! The hot chocolate had a taste of spice different but delicious!
What little we saw was beautiful. We didn’t feel very confident in our tour guide but he did do his best to make it a memorable experience.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you were able to see some of the Northern Lights and enjoy part of the experience. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel fully confident in the guide, but we appreciate your recognition that the guide did his best throughout the tour.
