Superb arrangement with chocolate tasting first. Derretter Sylvia and Magola taught us to make so much good food! They have so much love and enthusiasm for cooking, it was so fun to learn from them and to taste everything we made. We felt like we were home and cooked with our loved ones. Incredibly pleasant day recommended at the hottest!
Hi guys, so happy you enjoyed your afternoon coffee tour. The chocolate experience is great and it's awesome you felt at home with your loved ones. Cheers!
We arranged to be picked up at our hotel. The stop for coffee and a sweet was great. There was a lot of traffic to get to the city so we were in the car for quite awhile. Nothing you can do about that! We then went to see how chocolate is made and had the best brownie ever! The last stop was for the cooking class where we learned to make Ecuadorian empanadas and steamed tamales. It was long but good. We were then taken back to our hotel by Uber.
Hi Leslie, thanks for the good review. Im glad you had a good time on your Afternoon Coffee in Quito Tour. Best regards.
If you’re wavering, stop and just book it. Andres, his wife Sylvia and Magola are simply put, good humans. The entire afternoon felt like hanging with new friends and learning cool things about Quito. Getting the coffee in the historic center was a really fun experience, the chocolate tasting was joy for your tastebuds and learning to make empanadas and the canelazo drink was awesome. The empanadas were DELICIOUS and the canelazo drink was so good, I’m going to try to make it when I get home. I cannot say enough good things about this company, the people or the experience. It was a great afternoon!
Hi Jenna, we all had a blast during the afternoon coffee tour. The canelazo and empanadas are so tasty, the chocolate experience is awesome and the learning how to make coffee the old fashioned way is a treat. Thanks for the review, you were really cool to hang out with. Hope Galapagos is amazing!
Absolute best tour of our trip. Andres our tour guide was phenomenal. We had so much fun and got to experience so much. The food and the cooking was excellent. Was nice that we could add on a beer or a wine.
Thanks for the wonderful review Greg. I had a great time with y'all, the chocolate was tasty and fun and the empanada cooking class was a blast. Glad we found your phone. Too bad I didnt meet you before. Hope it went well with the dentist. ill send you the recipes and pics today. Cheers!
Amazing tour with a guide who is more of a friend showing you his favorite parts of his home town rather than than a tour guide giving you facts about the area - Andres definitely knows how to show you a taste of the culture. The tour starts with him picking you up then going to a local coffee roaster who only has four options, light roast, medium roast, dark roast and a bourbon roast; the smells tell you all you need to know and why they don't bother with more options. After that there's a short walk to a coffee producer in an old colonial house and a tasting and a history of chocolate then another walk to the kitchen where you spend the bulk of the time. The kitchen and the chefs altered the menu slightly since someone in the party has gluten allergies and the required twist on the authentic dishes was delicious and well worth the trip. Combined with the coffee and the intimate familiarity with every step that you gain doing the tour I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Hi Cheryl and Chris, thanks so much for the great review. I had a great time with you and Im so happy you did too. I really appreciate you joining this new tour. Im enjoying the coffee I bought at the roaster as I type. Both tours I had with you two were awesome! Hope to see you back sometime. Cheers!
