This was one of, if not the best tour we've done on our holiday. Our bus driver, Mary, kept us entertained with her fascinating stories and wonderful personality. She was fantastic. Our guide, Thalia, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip. The kayaking tour was simply magical. We had the privilege of seeing inquisitive seals swimming nearby, watched a salmon leap from the water, and, unbelievably, encountered not one but three humpback whales! They came in so close that we were literally surrounded by them. We even had to wait for them to pass before we could paddle back to shore. It was one of those rare, humbling wildlife encounters that will stay with me forever. Absolutely unforgettable.
Rosie was amazing. I would come back and do this excursion just because of how good she was as a guide.
We had an amazing time and our guide Sierra was awesome! (Yes mom, she’s alive and doing well & we love a girl who loves her momma!) Launching was well explained and easy. Our guide Sierra was attentive and was very well versed in the local history, wildlife, and all aspects of the tour. The pace was very reasonable and we saw multiple seals, eagles, etc and the view of the glacier was spectacular. Upon our return we were able to witness Bald Eagles performing a mating ritual and it was amazing to watch. Highly recommend and we will do this tour again if/when we return.
Lina did a great job showing us all the sights at and near the glacier, and we even got to see bald eagles in majestic flight as well as numerous harbor seals. Good exercise and good, safe fun outdoors. But remember bug spray beforehand!
This trip was pretty underwhelming and overpriced. We were only in the water for about an hour and just paddled around with an eyesight of where we launched. We did see a lot of bald eagles, which were cool. The guides weren’t particularly engaging and we had to wait quite a while to be taken back to our original pick up spot.
I booked this excursion back in February and thought...well, if it's cold and raining, then it's the true Alaska. Lo abd behold, it was pouring rain on our tour. Jackson our guide made us feel safe and comfortable. It was very enjoyable and almost forgot about the rain. Yes, we were soaking wet, but we had so much fun. I would book this tour again.
All gear was well maintained. Our safety was of the upmost importance. Our guide gave us a lot of information about the area.
We saw seals, sea lions, bald eagles and whales!! Ari was an excellent guide and wonderful host. Very knowledgeable about all the birds and animals!!
Awesome tour led by Quinn and her team. Very informative, load of wildlife seen. Topped of with a whale viewing. A++++
Amazing, epic and wonderful! This excursion was the highlight of my 7 day cruise. Nigel and his team took good care of us from beginning to end, starting with a short ride to this serene lake. The kayaking was so peaceful and relaxing, never feeling rushed. We were up close and personal with so much wildlife, viewing an eagle fly away with its impressive wingspan. Nigel took a picture of me with my eagle cap and the Mendenhall Glacier in the background, priceless! IMHO, there isn't a better way to spend the day in Juneau.
