Very worthwhile! Troy was an excellent driver and storyteller. We were fortunate enough to see bald eagles and a bear or 2 in the fields!
Great experience , had enough time at glacier to walk to nugget falls and then other photo points . Issue with people hogging walk way . Bus clean , saw a minimum of Juneau , enjoyed the activity and was at an appropriate time for our day .
Our group of 4 contained 3 - in their 70's and 1 in her 60's. Viator's driver was a local and very knowledgeable and friendly. The time allotted at Mendenhall was sufficient for all of us to walk to the waterfalls and spend some time at the visitors center. The trip was enjoyed by all of our group.
Travel time to the glacier is approx 20-30 minutes, 2 hours there, 20-30 minutes back to Juneau - Total time of excursion is 3 hours not 2 hours. No complaints, just didn't realise the time/distance to reach the glacier and Nugget Falls. Well worth the time!! Mary was our driver and did a fantastic job! She shared her wealth of knowledge about the area as we rode to and from the Glacier.
This was a great experience to see the Mendenhall Glaciers! Our tour guide, Todd was exceptional and very informative and friendly. I would highly recommend the tour!

Troy was a fantastic tour guide on the way to and from. The company was even able to accommodate us on an earlier tour since we arrived sooner than we anticipated. I would have loved 2.5 hours at the glacier instead of just 2 hours. It would be more leisurely and we could have done the last trail and the gift shop that we skipped. But for a casual stroll and some pictures it was fine. Everything was timely and a fair price.
This excursion was value for money. Our guide Troy entertained us with historical & local facts wrapped up in a big dose of humour!
Narration on trolley to the glacier was great. Time at the glacier was perfect. The driver dropped people off at various places on the way back.
Find the trolley departure spot well in advance. I walked the wrong way and by the time we realized and got to the trolley stop, it was gone. We did not get to go. We ran around wildly looking for the company. There was no one to call. The other vendors had no idea who we were looking for. They kept asking for our tickets, which I could not view on my phone; the page would not open. I was not able to create a printed ticket. Catastrophe for us.
Oh no! Our number is indeed on the ticket that Viator sends you. We are sorry to hear this. it is indeed very important to have our information handy before you get on your ship in case you have any technical difficulties like this.
