Eingebettet in die Patchwork-Ausläufer des herrlichen Kilimandscharo liegt das schöne Dorf Materuni, Heimat unserer Chagga-Freunde und berühmt für seinen aromatischen, reichhaltigen Kaffee. An diesem duftenden und unterhaltsamen Tagesausflug wandern Sie die kurze, aber herausfordernde Route zu den Materuni-Fällen und können unter Wasser stehen, während sie in einen ruhigen Pool stürzen, in dem Sie sicher baden können. Und Sie werden direkt hineinspringen wollen – nachdem Sie von Ihrer Wanderung verschwitzt (ok, glühend) geworden sind, gibt es nichts Beruhigenderes, als im kühlen Wasser des Kilimanjaro-Berges zu schweben. Auf dem Weg zu / von den Wasserfällen haben Sie die Möglichkeit, in einer örtlichen Bar Bananenwein / Bier zu testen. Als nächstes haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihre eigene Tasse Kaffee auf die richtige Art und Weise zuzubereiten, und Sie erfahren das Geheimnis der perfekten Tasse Kaffee von den örtlichen Chagga-Leuten. Genießen Sie Ihr lokales warmes Mittagessen, dann verabschieden wir uns und kehren von diesem unvergesslichen Erlebnis nach Moshi Town zurück!

Reiseverlauf
Sie werden morgens in Moshi oder an Ihrem festgelegten Ort von unserem Fahrer abgeholt, der Sie zum Materuni Village fährt. Nach Ihrer Ankunft melden Sie sich im Dorfbüro an und Ihre Reise kann beginnen. Zuerst besuchen Sie die Wasserfälle, die Sie in etwa 35 Minuten zu Fuß erreichen. Unterwegs informiert Sie Ihr Guide über die Kultur der Chagga, das Dorfleben und erklärt Ihnen die umliegende Fauna und Flora. Die Aussicht ist wirklich atemberaubend und mit etwas Glück sehen Sie den Gipfel des Kilimanjaro. Der Pool am Fuße des Wasserfalls lädt zu einem erfrischenden Bad ein, also vergessen Sie Ihre Badesachen nicht! Nachdem Sie die Landschaft genossen haben, kehren Sie langsam mit Ihrem Reiseleiter zu einem traditionellen Haus zurück, wo Sie ein traditionelles Chagga-Mittagessen erleben werden. Als nächstes erwartet Sie das Kaffeeerlebnis. Hier erfahren Sie, wie Kaffee angebaut, getrocknet, geröstet und weiterverarbeitet wird und bereiten sich Ihre eigene Tasse Kaffee und Getränk zu. Danach treten wir die Fahrt zurück zu Ihrem Hotel in Moshi an.

I really enjoyed the tour. The Guild were really nice and explained everything really well. We started with a nice Scenic route up the mountain. Visited a local farm and learned everything about coffee. I made my own coffee from the beans whilst the local people were singing and dancing. Witch was amazing. After this we had a nice hike to the waterfall witch was beautiful. Definitely worth it. The lunch was delicious.
An essential tour if you are in Moshi. Nick is a very professional local guide and Materuni local guides as well. You will spend an unforgettable day

Thanks Nick for a great tour. We ground and made our own coffee the way the local do it, before getting to drink it. After hiking up to the waterfront and back we were treated to a tasty lunch. This felt like an authentic experience and contributes to the local people. No pressure. Nothing was rushed. A great day.
A big thanks to Nick and guide OZ for making this tour memorable. We first stopped off at a village in the foothills where the locals grow their own coffee shrubs. The process from berry to cup was shown along with singing and dancing. Then we hiked up to the waterfall listening to Africa by Toto and Queens Bohemian Rhapsody( Freddie Mercury was of course born in Zanzibar). Then back to the village for a traditional lunch with Banana beer. Nick and his partners go the extra mile to make sure you have a special experience to remember. I started out as a customer and left Tanzania with Nick as good friend for life.
This was amazing, the walk, the views and if you love coffee, you must do this trip. We learned also a lot about the people and plants there, and lunch was great!
Excellent guide. The coffee experience was informative and engaging. The waterfall is beautiful and a nice day hike. It’s a great tour for people about to head out on the Kilimanjaro trek.
Nick is very punctual and helpful and speaks very good English. He knows and explains a lot. His tours are always well organized including lunch with the locals. Try not to lure you into shops after the tour to buy souvenirs or similar as many other guides. Highly recommended.
We chose with nick which itinerary was best suited to us. We preferred to see the Materuni waterfalls and took us there on the first day combined with the coffee tour. The second day we wanted to visit the chagga village and after relax and take a bath at the chemka hotsprings. Nick is very helpful and explains a lot of things along the way. Driving very safe also because it is in the mood of the pole pole area (slowly). Recommended

Spent a great day in Materuni and the Hotsprings! Stunning nature along the hike and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who answered all my questions and explained a lot! Also, nice experience to discover local coffee production and and a delicious lunch. The weather wasn’t too great at first, but the gloomy atmosphere gave it a beautiful vibe and it didn’t matter at all! Asante sana!
