Das Design der Moschee zeichnet sich durch eine Reihe von Volkskunstwerken und Wandmalereien aus, wie marokkanische Zellij-Kunst und mongolische Wandmalereien, zusätzlich zu den Korridoren, der Tür, den Leuchttürmen, den Gärten und den Wasserfontänen. Das Royal Opera House Muscat ist das erste Opernhaus in der Region des Arabischen Golfs und auf der Arabischen Halbinsel. Sultan Qaboos ordnete seinen Bau im Jahr 2001 n. Chr. an. Die Bauarbeiten an dem Gebäude begannen 2007 n. Chr. und endeten am 12. Oktober 2011 n. Chr. Es wurde auf einer riesigen Fläche von achtzigtausend Quadratmetern errichtet und die bebaute Fläche beträgt mehr als fünfundzwanzigtausend Quadratmeter. Das Royal Opera House ist ein Mehrzweckgebäude, in dem verschiedene Veranstaltungen wie Opernkonzerte, Konzerte und Theaterstücke sowie Konferenzen und viele kulturelle und künstlerische Foren stattfinden können, die die zeitgenössische omanische Architektur widerspiegeln, und das maximal 1.100 Personen Platz bietet. Der Opernhauskomplex besteht aus einem Konzerttheater, einem Auditorium und formellen Gärten, einem Kulturmarkt mit Einzelhandels- und gehobener Gastronomie sowie einem Kunstzentrum für Musik-, Theater- und Opernproduktionen.
Der Palast wurde 1972 erbaut, zwei Jahre nachdem Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur Al Saidi die Macht übernahm. Der Sultan ordnete umfangreiche Wartungsarbeiten am Palast an.

We had a very good taxi tour today and I would recommend to others. The places to visit are spread out across Muscat so a car is essential. The benefit of this type of tour is that you can spend as long or as little at each place to suit you. The Grand Mosque was particularly impressive. Our driver gave us information about each visit and added in more places to see as there were some closures due to Eid.

We had a great time with Yahya. He showed us the old nutmeg, took us to Mutrah Souq and we could also go to the big mosque on Friday prayers, which is worth an experience. We were also able to examine the wonderful opera house, which shines with its great architecture. He as a person was always very nice and accommodating. So we found a friend for life in Oman. Car was send without guide. When contacted local office he said guide was ill. We should have been informed earlier so that we can book another tour. We went around but was not able to know history of any place. You should take our money back from local agent and refund it to us. Will be waiting for your response.
I told you that he will return you to the hotel after taking you to the mosque and I will return the money to you, but you agreed and said we will take the tour, and now you are demanding a refund. You do not deserve the service and you are a fraud.
We went on a 8-9 private tour to Wahiba Sands and Wadi ibn Khalid. We also get a taxi drive to and from the airport. Everything was excellent. Very professional, respectful driver/tourguide. They helped us a lot to get to know Muscat from a local view. We highly recommand this company. Verry reliable and if you travel alone or only women this is very safe and trustworthy. Oman is beautiful, like a fairytale. The people are very polite and kind. We enjoyed everything.

Although I had perfect communication before arrival, I was disappointed to find that this firm provided a driver not a guide. I expected to be told about the history and diversity of the city, and the sites that we were visiting. That was not possible, as my driver did not speak, conversant English. This may have been a function of the person who drove me around, but I was disappointed by the service. Zero enthusiasm from this guide.
