Das Schlachtfeld von Long Tan Nui Dat ist die berühmteste Schlacht, die die australische Armee während des Vietnamkrieges ausgetragen hat. Diese Schlacht fand auf einer Kautschukplantage statt. Am 18. August 2016 fand am Ort der Schlacht eine unauffällige Zeremonie statt; Mehr als 1.000 australische Veteranen und ihre Familien reisten nach Vietnam, um an der Gedenkfeier zum 50. Jahrestag teilzunehmen. Die Tour beginnt mit einer Abfahrt im Minivan in die Provinz Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Der örtliche Reiseführer bringt Sie zum Gelände des Long Tan Battlefield, wo Sie die ehemalige 1. australische Task Force in Nui Dat besuchen.
Unser erster Zwischenstopp ist der Nui Dat SAS Hill, wo Ihnen die Hubschrauberpark- und Campingplätze der Soldaten gezeigt und die wichtigen Orte während des Krieges erklärt werden. Sie erhalten einen Überblick über den 4 km langen Kreis des Nui Dat-Basisumfangs. Als nächstes besuchen wir den Gummiwald und passieren den Berg Mong Ngua, der einst als Unterschlupf für vietnamesische Soldaten diente.
Anschließend fahren wir weiter zum Long Tan Cross Memorial, um der australischen und vietnamesischen Soldaten zu gedenken, die während des Krieges ihr Leben geopfert haben
dann die Long-Phuoc-Tunnel, die von den Vietminh und Vietcong zum Kampf und als Unterschlupf gegraben wurden. Long Phuoc Tunnels ist unsere letzte Station einer halbtägigen Tour zum Schlachtfeld von Long Tan Nui Dat.
Wir fahren zurück nach Ba Ria für ein spätes Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. Unser Reiseleiter wird Ihnen einige Spezialitäten dieses Landes empfehlen, es hängt ganz von Ihnen ab. Nach einer kurzen Pause kehren Sie nach Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt zurück.

Colbie Kim is a great tour guide, she takes care us really well. The memorials long tan was incredible.
An excellent and informative tour. Chris was a fantastic guide who brought the history to life through his personal experiences of being stationed in the area. We appreciated visiting both Australian and Vietnamese memorials and gained a much deeper understanding of the region’s history. Highly recommended, and it’s great to support an organization doing valuable work for people in need in the Vung Tau area.
Jack did an awesome job showing my partner and I where my dad served with old photos of what was there all those years ago. He explained vietnams turbulent history perfectly. We stopped and had donuts at a roadside market and he purchased flowers for the Long Tan memorial. We then visited the tunnels where the caretakers dad was a local Viet Cong fighter. Afterwards we had a pho at a local restaurant which was delicious. Would highly recommend this tour.
If you’re Australian visiting Vietnam you need to book this tour especially if you have an interest in history. Amazing insight into local history and culture, so much packed into a day trip out of HCMC.

Right from the start Kim’s bubbly and warm persona shines through. Here attention to detail was amazing. She is very knowledgeable fun and easy going with a very good grasp of the English language. The addition of carefully selected music ( including odes and last post) and photographs made for a very emotional tour to see where my father served. Highly recommend this tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable in all aspects of this battle and walked us through the locations with respect and dignity. We were taken to some less touristy tunnels and had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Very heartfelt tour with flowers provided for us to lay at the cross.
