Die Ahmad Al-Jaber Öl- und Gasausstellung ist nach Kuwaits 10. Herrscher benannt, der von 1921 bis 1950 als Kuwaits Amir diente. In seiner Regierungszeit begann die Geburt der Ölindustrie. Die Ausstellung würdigt die wichtige historische Rolle, die Scheich Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah bei der Gestaltung des modernen Kuwait gespielt hat. Das Al-Qurain-Märtyrermuseum erzählt eine Geschichte während des Golfkrieges in Kuwait.

Die Ahmad Al-Jaber Öl- und Gasausstellung spielt eine wichtige Rolle für KOC, indem sie die Geschichte des Öls sowohl im Bundesstaat Kuwait als auch in der ganzen Welt erzählt. Von der Entstehung des Öls bis zu seiner Entdeckung und all den Möglichkeiten, wie Ölprodukte helfen, verbessern wir unser Leben. Die Ausstellung dient der Beantwortung von Fragen der Öffentlichkeit zu Öl und Gas und den wichtigen Funktionen, die sie in unserem modernen Leben spielen. Das ursprüngliche Ausstellungszentrum in Ahmadi hat eine sehr wichtige Rolle in der Geschichte der Kuwait Oil Company gespielt. Im Rahmen ihres KOC-Besuchs wurden jahrzehntelang Delegationen aus aller Welt in das Ausstellungszentrum gebracht. Das ursprüngliche Display Center war nicht nur eine hervorragende Informationsquelle für die Erdölindustrie, sondern auch eine Quelle des Stolzes für das Unternehmen, da hier die Öffentlichkeit über die wichtige Rolle informiert werden konnte, die KOC für die Erdölindustrie spielt Bundesstaat Kuwait.
Das Al-Qurain-Märtyrermuseum besteht aus drei benachbarten Villen. Am 24. Februar 1991 hatten sich 19 junge kuwaitische Männer der Widerstandsgruppe "Messila" bewaffnet und bereiteten einen Streik gegen die einfallende irakische Armee vor. Während die Männer über ihren Plan diskutierten, war eine irakische Patrouilleneinheit in der Gegend und überprüfte schließlich eines der drei Häuser, in denen sich die Widerstandsgruppe versammelte. Die beiden Seiten begannen daraufhin einen zehnstündigen Kampf. Die kuwaitischen Männer waren zahlenmäßig stark überlegen und unterbewaffnet und wurden schließlich von irakischen Panzern und Soldaten besiegt. Von den neunzehn Männern wurden sieben schwer verwundet und zwölf starben.

I arrived in Kuwait and the initial plan was the Martyrs Museum and the Oil Museum, but the Oil Museum was closed that day due to some special circumstances on the museum’s side. Anyway, we went to several sites of importance to Kuwait and I had such a great time and learned a lot!
Enjoyed the oil and gas exhibit as I thought it was quite interesting. Seeing the amount of oil extracted per second in Kuwait was super cool. The Martyr Museum looked impressive from the outside, but sadly was already closed when we arrived. Thus, paid full price for only half a tour. :-/ Fine tour if you have some extra time or are really into Kuwaiti history of culture. Might be just as easy to rent a car and go yourself.
We are sorry if you were not satisfied with the tour cost, however, the cost was for 5 hours tour, and you were only utilizing two hours since you requested us to drop you at airport to catch up your flight. There were other options available to select less hour's tour with lower cost. Wish you all the best.
Highly recommend this tour. Both locations are accessible without a tour guide but having Waleed was useful. Particularly at the Al Qurain Museum where there is no guide and more limited information. Waleed was happy to share openly about life in Kuwait, including cultural differences, political and history. The Oil and Gas Exposition was very informative, excellently presented and speaks to the development of Kuwait as funded through Oil and Gas. There were interactive exhibits and an excellent video about the 600+ well set alight when Iraqi troops left the Kuwait at the end of the Gulf War (largest environmental disaster in history). In addition to the two sites, Waleed took me to the Kuwait Tours and would have taken me to the old market and museums had I not already seen these/ been a bit tired. I like this tour as an addition after you have explored a few of the more readily accessible sites (beach, towers, old souk). We finished with an excellent Persian dinner (not included in tour).
