Der Yuki-Schrein wurde tatsächlich im Zentrum von Kyoto erbaut, aber 940 wurde er nach Kurama verlegt, um das Gebiet vor dem mysteriösen Bösen zu schützen. Einer der Höhepunkte dieses Gebirgsschreins ist ein 800 Jahre alter Zedernbaum, der den 53 m hohen Schrein überragt.
Der Berg ist als Geburtsort der ganzheitlichen Heilkunst Reiki bekannt. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts meditierte der Begründer von Reiki, Mikao Usui, 21 Tage lang auf diesem Berg und empfing die Heilenergie von Reiki. Mikao Usui meditierte in der Nähe des Gipfels des Berges an einem Ort namens Osugi Gongen, an der Stelle eines großen heiligen Baums, der eine Inkarnation des Gottes Maoson sein soll. Sobald Sie den Berg erreicht haben, können Sie positives Chi um sich herum spüren. Wenn Sie durch die Eingangstür des Tempels treten, fühlen Sie sich geistig so wohl und körperlich so voller Energie. Nachdem Sie den Yuki-Schrein erkundet haben, schlängeln Sie sich auf einem angenehmen 25-minütigen Spaziergang durch den Wald zum berühmtesten Schrein der Region - Kuramadera. Kuramadera wurde im 8. Jahrhundert gegründet und widmet sich der Verehrung von Bergen und Natur. Vor allem im Herbst bietet es einen unglaublichen Blick über die umliegenden Bergketten. Sehen Sie, wie viele langnasige Tengu (Wächter des Berges) Sie entdecken können.
Tief in den Bergen liegt der Okunoin Maoden Tempel. Es soll dort sein, wo Dämonen regieren und ein sehr mysteriöses Gefühl dabei haben.
Der Kifune-Schrein gilt als Ort, an dem Seeleute auf ihren Reisen um Glück beten können, und ist dem Gott des Wassers und des Regens gewidmet. Es gibt Orte, an denen Sie das reine Bergwasser frisch von der Quelle trinken können, und viele kleine Bäche, die rund um den Schrein verstreut sind. Wenn Sie im Sommer kommen, erwarten Sie, von den Wildblumen verzaubert zu werden, aber es ist nicht weniger atemberaubend, eingehüllt in Herbstfarben oder reinweißem Schnee. Probieren Sie unbedingt das Mizuura Mikuji (Wasser Wahrsagerei), das Ihr Reiseführer für Sie übersetzen kann.
Der Legende nach reiste eine Göttin mit einem Boot von Osaka den Fluss hinauf in diese Berge. Dieser innere Schrein von Kifune beherbergt das Boot, in dem sie angeblich gefahren ist.

This hiking tour was exceptional! It was beautiful and there is such a power energy on Mount Kurama! Our tour guide Etskumo was great! She was the sweetest lady ever! Easy to talk to and was taking care of our every need. She was knowledgeable and actually a pleasure to be around for our 8 hour tour. She had great patience other my three teenagers! We took my mom on this tour for her birthday and had a great time! Etsuko was great! She was so attentive and knowledgeable about the area making sure that we had an enjoyable experience. She picked up us up at our hotel and took the train with us to ensure we got there smoothly. In Kurama we visited the beautiful temple and mountain area then hiked back the other side of the mountain to have lunch in Kibune. It was a different and incredible adventure. Climbing Mount Kurama, a sacred place, brought a lot of reflection and learning. It is not an easy place to reach, so I completely recommend Omakase Tour, a trustworthy company that took care of every detail. Just outside Kyoto lies Kurama, a charming little town that feels worlds away from the city’s bustle.
