It wasn’t really what I was expecting. The lodge where we stayed was stunning and the people who worked there were very nice but it wasn’t as remote and I didn’t see as much wildlife as I was expecting.
We highly recommend this tour! Fernando was the most amazing tour guide who curated the experience to give us the best balance of adventure and relaxing in the Amazon. He also had an eagle eye when it came to spotting critters! We spotted 4 monkey species, 2 types of caymens, tarantulas, bullet ants, frogs, dozens of bird species, piranhas, and even a capybara! The trip around the lake was our favorite part but the entire experience was surreal. The accommodations and food were lovely and everyone was so kind and helpful.
We had a great time in the jungle. We saw many animals, the accommodation and food were good and our guide Gonzalo was very competent and entertaining.
We were disappointed because we had booked to be in a small group as shown on the booking 10 people and we were 20 finally we changed boat and guide several times... A lot of expectations at first... We were disappointed with the visit to Monkey Island which is very touristy far too many people and the guides had food to attract the monkeys (which is not crazy) On the other hand pleasantly surprised by the food the meals were very beautiful and the lodge very nice
Mass tourism experience not for the more adventurous travelers. Please note that solo travelers will be placed in a shared room.
As soon as we arrived at the establishment we wanted to charge $20 per person for the entrance to Lake Sandoval, which was the only attraction that was not included. When we start checking the price of tickets on the Internet (because I found it very rare to be asked for the money paid by credit card and in dollars), we see that the entrance to Lake Sandoval is 30 soles per person, that is, about 11 euros. When I communicate it to the person responsible, they tell me that it is not possible to show me the e-ticket, they start talking to each other and elbowing each other not to screw up. I spoke to the person responsible, Carlos, and it was very disrespectful. He told me that I could risk not taking the entrance with them but that it is very difficult to get it and they would not be responsible if I could not enter the lake. This is called coercion. They refused to return the money and it was the platform that had to answer for them. A totally undesirable deal. On the other hand, the price of the excursion is well above the quality of it. There are many downtimes and the food is not especially good. There are many other companies that provide this Service much better. I WOULDN'T TAKE THIS EXCURSION OR CRAZY AGAIN.
The guides are fantastic, doing their utmost to ensure you have the best experience and really lovely people too.
Would not book this tour. The tour is actually a 2 day tour. A lot of waiting rather than jungle time
Absolutely a fantastic trip to the jungle with the best guide, Elar and a great group. We saw lots a wild life both in the evening and during the day. We may not have read everything about the trip -but a good tip is to pack a small bag to bring to the jungle. But definitely go!
It was a great experience, def must see! Ronal was very knowledgable and made the tour really enjoyable, you can tell he really cares about the environment 😊
