Katzenwanderung in Reykjavik

Beschreibung

I was fortunate enough to be the only person in the group and Bardi gave me the grand tour! You don't have to be a cat lover to thoroughly enjoy this tour as Bardi gave a lot of history of Iceland along with some Saga stories and folklore. Bardi made not only the Cats of Reykjavik come alive but the entire city with tales of folklore and famous people. Meeting the cats and their shop owners was not only fun but really personalized the city. Watching other visitors react when they spotted a cat was also entertaining. These cats are celebrities in their own right (and all have Instagrams, some with as many as 78,000 worldwide followers!) Most impressive was watching Bardi assist a group of travelers who spoke Spanish and needed some information. Instead of directing them to call the company, as many people would, Bardi took it upon himself to seamlessly switch from English to Spanish and personally get the information the group wanted. He absolutely went above and beyond. You can tell he loves what he does and it shows. His tour is informative, humorous, entertaining and memorable. I highly recommend this tour and if you are really lucky, Bardi will be your tour guide.
Stephan was a great guide to all the famous cats in Reykjavik. We toured all the hangout spots and got to see a lot of local businesses. Lots of fun. A unique experience. Highly recommend.
Stefan was the best! We learned so much about Iceland lore and we got to pet all the cats (every cat lover’s dream)! The cat cafe was adorable too—and yummy! Thank you Stefan and the cats of Reykjavik!
Great introduction to Reykjavík. The tour showed us some parts of town we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The cat aspect got my (sometimes) jaded teenagers interested in exploring the city, and we all enjoyed meeting friendly shop cats. Stefan was an attentive guide who took his cues off of the group.
Robyn has been in Iceland 24 years, so although not a native, she has a great breadth of knowledge about history and culture. Quirky tour of city center with cat sightings. Only 6 people total meant lots of questions insightfully answered! Would recommend this tour and guide!
Fun experience, and got to learn about life in Iceland! Seeing cats also helped!
This was my 3rd tour with “Your Friend in Reykjavík.” It was once again a wonderful tour experience. My guide Robyn was such a lovely person and it actually felt like hanging out for a couple hours with a friend. The cats we met were sweet and located in fun spots. The first 30 minutes or so, we did not see cats at some of their usual spots, but we saw several as the tour went on. This was another great tour with a wonderful company.
We did this tour our first day in town, so we were pretty tired from international travel, but it fit the bill as a way to see some of the city, help us adjust to the new time zone, and enjoy some adorable cats. Stefan was a friendly and knowledgeable host. It was fun to talk to a local and learn more about the city, language, and culture. Our teenagers have a limited tolerance for “walking around and looking at buildings,” but with cats involved, they were very happy to do it!
Stephan did a great job on the cat tour with tons of interesting facts, places to visit, and cats to see! Highly recommend!
I had assumed that the focus of the tour would be on how cats are related to Icelandic life and lore or something simialr, but mostly this was a walk around town and spotting of various neighborhoods cats.
