Wir genießen die Aussicht auf spektakuläre Landschaften, schroffe Bergketten und sanft abfallende Hügel aus Weizen- und Rapsfeldern, die ein bisschen wie Wellen mit mittlerem Wellengang aussehen. Wir halten oberhalb von Sir Lowrys Pass an, um eine Fotomöglichkeit zu nutzen und die darunter liegenden Sehenswürdigkeiten von False Bay zu entdecken. Unsere Expedition geht weiter durch die wunderschönen grünen, goldenen und braunen Zitrusplantagen des Overbergs und hält an einem Bauernstand, um sich zu erfrischen. Wir fahren weiter durch Caledon, die siebtälteste Stadt Südafrikas, das landwirtschaftliche Zentrum der Overberg-Region und bekannt für die eisenreichen heißen Quellen. Unsere Tour führt uns zum Cape Agulhas Leuchtturm, der seit über 150 Jahren als Seefahrer über dem berüchtigten "Cape of Storms" an der südlichsten Spitze Afrikas steht. Dieser offizielle Treffpunkt des Indischen Ozeans und des Atlantischen Ozeans ist auch der Konvergenzpunkt der Strömungen von Mosambik und Benguela. Wir besuchen auch das Schiffswrackmuseum in Bredasdorp und die afrikanischen Pinguine in Stony Point

Wir verlassen Kapstadt gegen 07:30 Uhr und fahren auf der N2 in südöstlicher Richtung über Sir Lowrys Pass in Richtung Cape Overberg. Wir genießen die Aussicht auf spektakuläre Landschaften, schroffe Bergketten und sanft abfallende Hügel aus Weizen- und Rapsfeldern, die ein bisschen wie Wellen mit mittlerem Wellengang aussehen. Wir halten oberhalb von Sir Lowrys Pass an, um eine Gelegenheit zum Fotografieren und atemberaubende Aussichten auf die darunter liegende False Bay zu genießen. Unsere Expedition geht weiter durch die wunderschönen grünen, goldenen und braunen Zitrusplantagen des Overbergs und hält an einem Bauernstand, um sich zu erfrischen. Weiter besuchen wir das Schiffswrackmuseum in Bredasdorp. Seit 1673 gab es ungefähr 130 Schiffswracks vor der Südkapküste. Dieser gefährliche Küstenabschnitt ist als "Friedhof der Schiffe" bekannt. Das Museum dokumentiert auch die reiche Geschichte der Region und verfügt über eine Sammlung von Schiffsartefakten und ein Schatzhaus mit Galionsfiguren und Rettungsbooten, Porzellan, Kanonen, Ankern, alten Flaschen und Münzen aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern.
Wir verbringen auch Zeit am Strand von Struisbaai mit seinem warmen und kristallklaren Wasser und der tropischen Atmosphäre. Hier treffen sich auch der Indische und der Atlantische Ozean.
Nach einem fantastischen Erlebnis an der südlichsten Spitze Afrikas kehren wir nach Kapstadt zurück und passieren die für Walbeobachtungen berühmte Stadt Hermanus. Anschließend fahren wir durch die malerische Clarence Drive. Wir besuchen die gefährdeten afrikanischen Pinguine im Stony Point Nature Reserve, wenn es die Zeit erlaubt.

Picked up my A5 cabriolet at Audi Claremont and turned left...South African term for started my holiday...the drive over was nice and long upon arriving there the peace after the long drive was worth gold, seein how those waves crushed the boulders with force reminded me of how there will be no where to run to... there is a small interesting town there and nothing, not worth paying R7k, get a car and enjoy the drive
The true tip of Africa, not Cape Point, is well worth a visit and tastefully marked. A good place to propose as we saw one young couple become engaged across the two oceans! There are well marked trails in the area with some great sea views and a local lighthouse. A must visit if in the area. Not crazy hordes of coaches and tourists as at Cape Point (at least when we visited with a U3a group).

Elton is a treasure trove of South African history and more importantlu a delight to talk to. During our long drive out to Cape Agulhas, he helped us explore all the small towns and histories related to it. This gave us a view into the SA countryside. He was very courteous of our various requests to stop at photo points. A must tour if you want to have a frank and easygoing conversation with an amazing human being (and obviously the southern most point of the continent xD)

I had an amazing time during the tour, Elton was very knowledgeable and told me a lot of interesting facts about South Africa. The cape Aghulhas was great, impressive to see the two oceans side by side and the penguins were very cute. On the way back, elton went out of his way and drove along the coastline of false bay, wonderful view and wasn’t part of the tour initially, so very grateful for that experience. Would recommend that tour in addition to cape of good hope.
