It was a very beautiful and peaceful tour. We really enjoyed the birdwatching. We were able to see various bird species, as well as water buffalo, monitor lizards and monkeys. Priyanka was very kind and knew a lot about the birds. We would definitely recommend this wonderful tour in the lagoon to everyone.
again thank you to priyankara our guide for this magical moment by catamaran . beautiful place and of course on the birds at the rendezvous . an experience to advise nature lovers
Lovely peaceful tour. Priyankara was our guide and was knowledgable, friendly and determined to give us the best experience. Definitely recommend.
We arrived in Sri Lanka the night before our tour. Super easy pick up/drop off from our hotel. The lagoon and are where you start the boat tour is beautiful in itself, lots to see and you already know it's going to be a great tour because you are surrounded by wildlife. Our bird guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We made stops to watch and listen to birds, I think we spotted over 30 different species and had bonus lizards and monkeys. Birding highlights - pied kingfishers, red wattled lapwings, painted storks, but the absolute highlight was watching hundreds of Bee-eaters hunting for snacks over the water, whilst the sunset and we drank from King Coconuts on the front of the boat. Epic.
A beautiful experience in a magnificent landscape. You got enough time to enjoy the boat trip in peace. The guide knew a lot about the numerous birds. A very atmospheric and unforgettable experience.
Such an amazing bird watching experience in an incredibly beautiful area. The guide was so lovely and deeply knowledgable. We saw so many incredible birds during the tour and had so much fun exploring the mangroves.
We had a fantastic experience at the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. We spotted around 25 different bird species, from colourful kingfishers to majestic eagles - truly a bird-lover’s paradise! The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and the catamaran ride makes the whole experience even more relaxing as you glide gently through nature. Our guide, Priyanka, was wonderful — - super friendly, very knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about wildlife. He took the time to explain everything, answer questions, and make sure we didn’t miss a thing. You can really feel how eager he is to share his love for the birds and the lagoon. A beautiful and memorable experience - highly recommend!
Incredible tour! In a big bird guy and I saw more types of birds than any ever before and loved it. Guides knowledge was excellent too
we went in the afternoon . very relaxing and plenty to see . The staff were great and the whole experience was very enjoyable. i will do again in the future and try the morning to check that out
This excursion was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. Our guide Chamile was incredibly knowledgeable and told us what to look for and what we were experiencing. He found the perfect balance between being a guide and giving us room to enjoy the experience with his expert guidance. The pilot of the catamaran (sajeewa) guided us around the lagoon with such a relaxed ease. We started at dawn and meandering around the lagoon spotting some of the 146 species of birds was incredibly peaceful and fascinating. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. This may not be as flashy as seeing turtles or elephants. But it was an amazing experience that i will treasure and one that i wasn’t expecting.
