Das St.-Georgs-Kloster St. Nino, auch Bodbe-Kloster genannt, ist eine der wichtigsten religiösen Stätten in der Region Kachetien. Jetzt gibt es ein Nonnenkloster, in dem sich das Kloster befand, und die St.-Georgs-Kathedrale, die Teil des Klosters ist, beherbergt die Überreste von St. Nino, der das Christentum nach Georgien gebracht hat.
Die Stadt hat eine Mauer aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Die Mauer hat 21 Türme, die alle nach dem Dorf oder der Stadt am Ende der Straße benannt sind, die durch jedes Tor führt. Der kleine Teil ist zu Fuß erreichbar und bietet Aussicht auf das Alazani-Tal.
In der Stadt selbst besuchen wir das Signagi Museum, das die Werke von Niko Pirosmani zeigt. Niko Pirosmani ist ein berühmter georgischer Maler, der in einem Dorf in der Nähe von Signagi geboren wurde. Wir werden auch einen Spaziergang in den schönen Straßen der Altstadt machen.
Am Ende der Reise besuchen wir das Weingut und probieren 10 Weinsorten

We booked this private tour through Temo - a representative of “ Holiday.me “ We were picked up at 10am and reached the Bodbe monastery after nearly 2 hours.The view from the monastery is nice but the monastery is under renovation. Later we drove to see the 18th century defence wall and tower. We then drove to Signagi the city of love having nice architecture and 18th century houses. Our driver and guide, Shoto did not provide us any information on the tour, Signagi city or the Museum. We drove to Kakheti to visi a wine storage and bottling plant. Temo had agreed to show the wine making process in this tour which we found later that it could be seen only in autumn. Therefore, we just had degustation which we could have experienced in Tbilisi instead of traveling so long!!! During this visit we were given no explanation on the history and Culture of Georgia relevant to these places.
Going to Kakheti is an extraordinary journey. We made the transfer in our own car. I can recommend this car as a great means of transportation for tourists.You can take advantage of this offer. We visited Tsinandali- estate of Ilya Chavchavadze. It's a fabulous place. To be there is to take with you extraordinary experiences.Next visited Bodbe and Signaki. In Signaki, the Nico Pirosmani Museum. The journey was beautiful. And back to Tbilisi they returned in a comfortable car, with wonderful experiences.
