This is a audio guided tour. It was informative and the experience was good. Sometimes the audio did not start on its own and had to select the section from the number on the board in each section.
The guide can only take you to the Harem and Main part of the palace. They aren't allowed to go inside. With that being said our guide did give us a breakdown of the palace and some history. We were allowed only about a half hour to tour the harem so that felt a little rushed if you really wanted to stop and learn more at each room. Please note if you would to rent a headset you do need to leave your passport or a substantial amount of Euros (think it was like 150). Beautiful palace thou but very strict about indoor photography. Shame when your spending so much per ticket to view the site.
The guide was punctual, infomative and friendly. She gave us enough time for the visit. The palace is very beautiful and luxurious.
The tour of Dolmabahce Palace was a total disappointment. The guide narrated primitively, information that is on the internet. The guided tours in the palace are not allowed, you have to use an audio guide. The guide outside the palace was narrated primitively, information founded on the internet. You can't do guided tours in the palace, you have to use an audio guide. The audio guide is issued on your own documents, passport or car licence must be brought with you. My daughter had no documents and we were not given two audio guides. We explained that the confirmation from Viator didn't have information about bringing documents with you, but no one helped. The guide offered to leave the tour if we didn't like it. No empathy or understanding. Be careful: your documents must be left with the museum staff until the end of the tour. This violates security laws. Your document can be copied and used in illegal prices. We are travelling a lot and nowhere, in any museum we have never left our documents to the museum staff. Ridiculous. Your document should be with you only. Negative experience. We will not use the excursion services of Turkey again.
I would reccommend this tour to everyone who comes to Dolombahce Palace for the first time. Tour guide was great and the Palace speaks for herself.
The Tour guide was TERRIBLE!! I came early and Whatsapped the tour guide and asked him where should I meet him and he texted me back but did not tell me where to meet him or how to get there. Then I texted him again and he said the group left. I was pissed because I came early and he did not help me. So I did not get to do the guided tour. All he had to do was tell me exactly where to meet him because I was already very near. I ended up having to do the tour by myself in a foreign country where I could not speak the language. Very unhappy with Viator. I probably will not use your service again. The worse thing is he didn't even offer me a refund.
The Palace is a real masterpiece with the beautiful interior and the lovely gardens. The chandeliers inside the palace are stunning! Our guide gave us thorough history of the palace.
This tour is incorrectly described. When we arrived our guide told us that there was a rule that he could not guide us inside since we were a group larger than 5. He also seemed to be in a hurry and just gave a short spiel, told us to get the audio tour, and then dumped us. No mention in the description that IDs were needed to get an audio tour. Basically all this did was give us a skip the line ticket.
Recommended for those with a very good knowledge of English to see the main attractions of Istanbul: Blue Mosque, Santa Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Cistern Basilica, Archaeological Museum, Dolmabahce Palace .... and many other attractions and activities. For these activities, just follow the directions on the website and arrive at the meeting point at the appointed time, once the epass is activated without reservation. Possibility to book different tours and the Bosphorus cruise with dinner on board and shows at discounted price. Guides are prepared and available.
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are happy you enjoyed your trip and the experience with Istanbul E-pass. We look forward to participating in your next adventure in Turkey again! Best Regards Dan Istanbul E-pass
It was difficult to find the tour and there was too many people. I did not think it was organized and not up to the Vistor standards.
