Kolumbiens EINZIGES spezialisiertes Aras- und Papageien-Reha-Zentrum – ein funktionierendes Wildtierschutzgebiet, in dem gerettete Vögel sich auf die Freilassung vorbereiten. Jeder Besuch finanziert die Rehabilitation von 200 + Vögeln, die derzeit in Pflege sind. Reiten Sie zu Pferd zum Cerro El Peligro – dem aktiven Befreiungsort, wo rehabilitierte Aras ihren ersten freien Flug nehmen. Vielleicht siehst du sie über der Erde fliegen. Das bietet keine andere Tour in Kolumbien. Begegnen Sie dem Weißkopf-Kapuzinertamarin (Saguinus oedipus) – stark gefährdet und endemisch an der kolumbianischen Karibikküste, wie er nirgendwo sonst auf der Erde zu finden ist. Helfen Sie, Futter für die Vögel vorzubereiten, pflanzen Sie einen einheimischen Baum, der frei fliegende Aras für Jahrzehnte füttert, und erhalten Sie ein Rewilding-Zertifikat. Frühstück mit Zutaten von 40 verbündeten Bauernfamilien, die 500 Hektar tropischen Trockenwald vor Wilderern schützen – Naturschutz und Gemeinschaftsarbeit.

What an amazing experience! From the birds to the horses and our amazing guide Corina. This was by far the best part of my whole trip ❤️
We booked super last minute but Alejandro was communicative and worked with us. We were seamlessly picked up from our hotel and commuted an hour to the farms. Got to tour the aviary and feed the macaw fresh fruit from the farms. ATVd around the property and got to see a bunch of cotton top tamarins, cows, more birds along the way. The horse back ride to the top was about an hour, very chill, beautiful scenery. Ended with beautiful views, feeding macaw at the top and delicious snacks back at the farm base with their cute dogs. Definitely recommend!

Can't say enough great things about this experience. We reached out to Alejandro, the owner, at the very last minute to try and schedule a visit to the bird sanctuary and do one of the activities. He graciously made it happen, even though it was with no notice. We were met by him personally (he arranged a driver) and served some fruit while he gave us the basic rundown of the property. We started off with the exciting experience of feeding some of the birds (which our boys loves) and walking around a bit. Then we were led on a horseback ride around the property, giving us views of valleys and hills that were unimaginable in Cartagena proper. We transferred to ATVs and then continued the tour, before wrapping up with a heavy snack and returning to Cartagena. It was by far the highlight of our trip to Cartagena. Alejandro is a gracious host with deep pride in what his team has been able to create, and I'd recommend this strongly to anyone visiting Cartagena who wants to see a different side of the area.

It is a wonderful experience, we started by feeding birds and then going into the breathtaking mountains with a buggy and quad bike. Along the way you will encounter a lot of wild life, a lot of it you also continue with horses which is super fun and you plant your own tree. The people can tell you a lot and are super good for the animals. This trip is highly recommended!
Wat fijn om te horen dat deze ervaring zo’n sterke indruk op jullie heeft gemaakt! De dag beginnen met het voeren van vogels en daarna de bergen verkennen met buggy en quad is een prachtige manier om de reserve echt te beleven. De ontmoetingen met wilde dieren, het vervolg te paard en het planten van je eigen boom maken de ervaring extra bijzonder. Ons team zet zich met veel liefde in voor de dieren en deelt graag hun kennis, dus het is mooi om te weten dat dit zo werd gevoeld. Excellent. The panorama is very nice and the horse riding is rejuvenating. Everyone you meet is very friendly and nice. Parrot rehabilitation work is unique in Colombia.

Hello everyone! I am a Biology student at the University of Cartagena and I had the opportunity to visit the Loros Foundation. Honestly, it left an incredible impression on me. Although the facilities are simple, everything is super clean and tidy, which shows the love and care they have for animals and the environment. The foundation team is the best, very friendly and always willing to share their knowledge! I learned a lot about how they rehabilitate and release parrots, and that for me, as a future biologist, was super valuable. The horseback riding was a cool adventure, although you have to admit that going up and down the hills is a little hard, but it is totally worth it for the views and the experience. But the best of all was seeing the place where the parrots are released. Now that was impressive! Seeing those birds fly free in their natural habitat filled me with emotion and reminded me why I chose to study Biology. Totally recommended for everyone who loves nature and animals!
