Wenn wir über die Geschichte Spaniens nachdenken, nimmt Toledo einen unverzichtbaren Platz ein. Eine der Städte dieser drei Kulturen wurde schließlich zu Grecos Heimatstadt; die Stadt mit der jüngsten gotischen Kathedrale Europas ist einzigartig und auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Der Plan sieht folgendermaßen aus: Wir werden die Kathedrale, die Kirche St. Tomé, die Kirche St. María la Blanca und die Kirche St. Juan de los Reyes besichtigen, und zwischen diesen Sehenswürdigkeiten wird unser Reiseleiter einen Rundgang durch die Stadt selbst anbieten. Die wichtigste Frage lautet jedoch: Was für ein Besuch? Wir schreiben das Jahr 2023; um dem Massentourismus entgegenzuwirken, bestehen unsere Gruppen aus nur 10 Personen. Wir könnten alles Mögliche tun, aber unser Motto war schon immer: „Wir lieben diesen Ort.“ Nun, wir übernehmen die Verantwortung dafür, dass es nachhaltig ist. Wir sind die Reiseführer, die Sie brauchen, und dies ist die Tour, die die edle Stadt Toledo von uns erwartet. Wir werden einen Rundgang machen und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (einschließlich der Kathedrale) in kleinen Gruppen besichtigen, wobei der Reiseleiter nur eine Sprache spricht (wir mögen zweisprachige Führungen auch nicht).

Früher war dies eine Synagoge, heute ist es eine Kirche im Mudéjar-Stil.
Wir werden dieses Kloster im gotisch-elisabethanischen Stil besichtigen (wenn wir von „elisabethanisch“ sprechen, meinen wir unsere Isabel – Elisabeth I. von Spanien).
Einer der beeindruckendsten Tempel der spanischen Gotik. Wir werden etwa eine Stunde in diesem wunderschönen Gebäude verbringen.

Macarena was such an incredible guide. Being from Toledo, Ohio USA, I knew we wanted to do a tour of Toledo, Spain and I did NOT want to do it with a large bug group. Paying for a small group tour was not that much more expensive and 100% worth it! In fact, it ended up being just me and my boyfriend on the tour! We were able to ask questions and she was able to give us excellent suggestions for lunch in Toledo as well as sent us messages re: suggestions in Madrid. Toledo was one of the highlights of our France/Spain trip and much of that was because of our guide. Only one other time I have I fallen in love with a city (Florence), but I think I may now be cheating with Toledo! The tour length was perfect to cover all the major attractions and we received the tourist pass bracelet to get into any other monuments for free. THANK YOU MACARENA!

Our guide Stephi was phenomenal and the history of the city fascinated us. Before we met our guide, we had to make our way to the main Square from the local train station. There are lots of steps and a lot of elevation to cover to get into town. We arrived at 9:30 in the morning so the weather was still cool enough to make the walk. I would not have wanted to do it later in the day when it was warmer. Plenty of taxis available and buses too to avoid the walk.

We throughly enjoyed our tour! First off our guide, Alex, was terrific. Super informative, friendly and allowed for great conversations. He was really on it prior to the tour making sure we got there ok and knew exactly where to meet him! A small group of 5 allowed for a real personal visit to this lovely town! Our tour guide, Belen, gave an excellent historical tour! She was very knowledgeable regarding the history of Spain, with specific Toledo history as well. She did very good job of explaining Toledo’s importance in the history of Spain. She highlighted the beauty of Toledo, paying extra attention to the cathedral and the Jewish quarter. Would highly recommend the tour.
