Zwei Jahrhunderte lang war Golconda die Diamantenhauptstadt der antiken Welt. Das Fort selbst ist eine der größten mittelalterlichen Festungen Indiens – 15 große Türme, 51 kleine Türme und 446 Öffnungen auf 11 Kilometern Mauern, mit einem akustischen System, das so präzise entwickelt wurde, dass ein einziges Handklatschen am Basistor in den königlichen Wohnungen 90 Meter darüber deutlich zu hören ist. Die Qutub Shahi Gräber in der Nähe sind die Mausoleen der sieben Könige, die Golconda erbauten, in Gärten, in denen traditionell sogar Kriminelle begnadigt wurden, die Zuflucht suchten. Die architektonische Mischung aus persischem, pathanischem und hinduistischem Stil findet sich nirgendwo sonst in Indien. 8 Uhr - Abholung vom Hotel für eine halbtägige Tour durch Hyderabad Wir fahren nach Golconda, 11 km von der Stadt Hyderabad entfernt. Die Golconda-Festung ist wohl die größte Hügelfestung Indiens. Erbaut im Jahre 1143 als Schlammfestung, wurde es zwischen dem 14. und 17. Jahrhundert befestigt und diente als Hauptpalast der Bahmani-Sultane und der Qutub Shahi-Dynastie. Unser Guide wird die Geschichte dieses Forts lebendig machen und wie es die Zukunft von Hyderabad und seinen Menschen geprägt hat
Unser nächstes Ziel während der halbtägigen Hyderabad-Tour sind die Qutub Shahi-Gräber, die zur Erinnerung an die alten Könige von Golconda errichtet wurden. Der Bogen, die Säulen, die Minarette und die Galerien der Kuppel sehen exquisit aus und sind von Gärten umgeben, die Ibrahim Bagh genannt werden. Der Legende nach wurden diese Gräber unter der Herrschaft der Qutub Shahi-Könige verehrt und sogar Verbrecher, die hier Zuflucht gesucht hatten, wurden begnadigt.

Ms. Shashi did an excellent job of guiding me and adapting her explanations to my engineering mind set . Focusing attention on construction aspects without forgetting the cultural and religious sides of the places .highly recommend her as a tour guide .

My husband and I booked this tour as a way to learn some of the history of the city. “Jolly Jon”, our tour guide, picked us up in a car with a driver and took us to see the fort and nearby tombs of the royal family. Absolutely fascinating! Jon is passionate about sharing the history of his city and country. We were really able to envision life in the fort and surrounding area. This was a tour we won’t forget and would highly recommend.

Srinu is a good storyteller and made the tour enjoyable. It was good to see the places in comfort with a knowledgeable local. Every detail was taken care of abd it made the 4 hour tour go by quickly.
I enjoyed the trip a lot, and this guided tour was a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the place, and get a great view over the city. Even though I booked only the evening before, my guide picked me up at the hotel the next morning. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Really enjoyable and informative tour. I would highly recommend this, and if I return to India I will be using this company for future tours. Special call out to our tour guide, Sashi, who was extremely knowledgable and accommodating. She has been guiding tours in Hyderabad for 22 years, and it showed! Even though it was rainy we still had a great experience at the Fort and Tombs. Both are definitely well worth a visit and have a rich history.
