Dieser prächtige Tempel, der Lord Rudreshwara (Shiva) gewidmet ist und zum Weltkulturerbe gehört, wurde im 13. Jahrhundert während der Herrschaft des Kakatiya-Herrschers Ganapati Deva erbaut. Die Sandsteinstruktur ist mit ihren verzierten Balken und Säulen aus geschnitztem Granit ein bemerkenswertes Stück Architektur. Ein besonderes Merkmal dieses Tempels ist die Verwendung von leichten porösen Ziegeln oder "schwimmenden Ziegeln", um das Gewicht der Dachkonstruktion zu reduzieren.
Der Bhadrakali-Tempel ist einer der ältesten Tempel, der der Verehrung der Muttergöttin gewidmet ist. Es ist diese Gottheit der Göttin, die im 14. Jahrhundert den Kohinoor-Diamanten als linkes Auge hatte. Es wurde 625 n. Chr. erbaut und befindet sich in einer malerischen Umgebung am Ufer des Bhadrakali-Sees. Die Tempelstruktur wird von quadratischen Säulen getragen, eine einzigartige Stilaussage in der Architektur. Ein Highlight dieses Tempels ist die Skulptur eines wilden Löwen, das heilige Fahrzeug der Göttin, das dem Allerheiligsten zugewandt ist.
Unser letztes Ziel auf der Tour durch Warangal ist der Thousand Pillar Temple, eines der schönsten Beispiele der Kakatiya-Architektur. Der 1163 n. Chr. von König Rudra Deva erbaute Tempel hat drei Schreine, die Lord Shiva, Vishnu und dem Sonnengott gewidmet sind. Der Tempel hat 1000 Säulen, von denen jede mit reichen Schnitzereien verziert ist. Das Highlight der Architektur ist, dass die 1000 Säulen so konstruiert sind, dass keine von ihnen den Blick auf den Schrein versperrt. Der gesamte Tempel hat die Form eines Sterns und die Säulen sind mit komplizierten Schnitzereien verziert. Das Design des Tempels ist so, dass die Morgenstrahlen der Sonne direkt auf den Shiva Lingam fallen.

We had an enjoyable trip to Ramappa temple, the 1000 pillar temple and Badrakali temple with a knowledgeable guide. She explained the history of the temples and the Kakatheya empire. The tour had a comfortable SUV and the driver was good at navigating traffic. Overall a very enjoyable trip, I recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about history of the region.
My teenage son and I had a great day. It is a long car trip, but our guide, Sashi, and the driver made sure everything was taken care of. Their flexibility and attention really made the trip feel customized to us. Ramappa Temple is a fantastic blend of engineering and craftsmanship. At the temple we met an additional expert guide who showed us all of the details and explained the meaning behind them. One thing I wish I had known was that since shoes must be removed when visiting active temples, sandals or other easy-off shoes are ideal.
The trip to visit the three temples, with Ramappa being the highlight, was outstanding. Such an immersing experience and absoulutely worth it. Sainath is a fantastic guide and so knowledgeable. He really took his time to explain details and guide around the temples. The food was also excellent.
PhD Sathish was very professional and knowledgeable about Indian history. He was great detail to induce rich Indian history. We had great trip.
Amazing tour, the experience was very enjoyable. I really liked the ancient temples and the explanations given by the guide.
The guide, Srinu, was very knowledgeable, the temples very fascinating, and lunch was delicious as well. My only marks against the tour are: 1) The fact it's a 4 hour trip each way, which wasn't clear from the info here. Knowing that ahead of time would have been nice to be able to plan accordingly. 2) After getting back to Hyderabad we went to a shop with an *extremely* pushy owner who wouldn't accept no for an answer and just kept pestering me to buy very expensive things. Having to tell a guy no over and over again for 30 minutes is not my idea of fun and really took away from the experience.
Again another great history tour from our guide (Srinu).learned another interesting history about the India's hyderabad region. Showed us the cuisine of the area. Again if you like history of other countries this is the way to go.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience on this tour! As a solo female traveler, I couldn’t have felt more comfortable or well taken care of on this tour. The guide Sainath was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing not only detailed historical facts but also captivating stories that made the history come alive. Our driver Veera was equally impressive – he drove smoothly and safely, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing ride for all of us. On top of that, he was extremely courteous and attentive to my needs. The food was another highlight, offering an authentic taste of local cuisine that was both delicious and satisfying. This tour is highly recommended, especially with Sainath and Veera leading the way. Their passion and professionalism made it an unforgettable adventure!
The visit to this temple was worth the travel time of 4 hours one way. It was the most beautiful, esthetically pleasing temple so far and the amazing mason work most impressive. A highlight of my trip to India! 😎😊👍🙏
