Kurz nach der Abholung fahren wir entlang der M5 und verbinden uns mit der M4 über die Strände Muizenberg, St. James und Fish Hoek entlang der malerischen Küste von False Bay auf dem Weg zur Boulder's Beach Penguins Colony.
Wenn wir durch den Strand von Muizenberg fahren, sehen wir in der Ferne die attraktiven bunten Strandhütten. Die Strandhütten ähneln den „Bademaschinen“ des 19. Jahrhunderts - einer karrenartigen Struktur, die bis zum Rand des Wassers heruntergerollt wurde, sodass die Damen ihre Badebekleidung vom Kinn bis zum Knöchel anziehen und im flachen Wasser herumtollen konnten. Die Strandhütten werden anschließend als Umkleidekabinen für Sonnenanbeter und begeisterte Surfer gleichermaßen genutzt.
Ähnlich wie ihre Kollegen werden die Strandhütten, die hier am St. James Beach zu sehen sind, auch von Sonnenanbetern als Umkleidekabinen genutzt. Ihr Reiseleiter wird hier einige Minuten anhalten, um einige lustige Fotos mit diesen farbenfrohen Strandhütten zu machen, bevor wir zur Boulder's Beach Penguins-Kolonie weiterfahren.
Wir fahren am Hafen von Kalk Bay vorbei, der eher einem Fischerdorf ähnelt. Die Fischerboote legen an und die Fischhändler loben ihren Fang. Hier steht täglich frischer Fisch zum Kauf zur Verfügung. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten, Gerüche und die erfrischende Seeluft sind nichts weniger als spektakulär.
Wir fahren durch den Strand von Fish Hoek. Es ist möglich, das warme Wasser des Indischen Ozeans zu spüren, das in die False Bay fließt, was Fish Hoek zu einem bevorzugten Strand zum Schwimmen und Sonnenbaden auf langen, warmweißen Sandstrecken macht.
Wir halten am Boulder's Beach, um die Kolonie der afrikanischen Pinguine zu besuchen. Boulder's Beach ist einer der besten Strände in Kapstadt, besonders zum Schwimmen und Sonnenbaden. Es ist möglich, beim Schwimmen und Sonnenbaden am Boulder's Beach enge Begegnungen mit den afrikanischen Pinguinen zu haben, dies ist jedoch nicht garantiert. Deshalb machen wir einen Spaziergang entlang der Promenade zum offiziellen Standort der Pinguinkolonie, um die Pinguine in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum zu sehen. In Boulders Pinguinkolonie leben ungefähr 3000 afrikanische Pinguine, die ihre Tage im Wasser der False Bay verbringen, sich in der Sonne sonnen und auf den Granitfelsen vorführen.
Nach unserer Begegnung mit den bezaubernden afrikanischen Pinguinen fahren wir weiter zu dem sicherlich Höhepunkt des Tages: dem Kap der Guten Hoffnung und dem Naturschutzgebiet Cape Point. Es wird angenommen, dass kein Besuch in Kapstadt ohne ein Foto hinter dem Namensschild des Kaps der Guten Hoffnung vollständig ist. Wir werden das Naturschutzgebiet erkunden, während der Reiseleiter historische Geschichten über die Leuchtfeuer Bartholomäus Dias und Vasco Da Gama erzählt. Das Kap der Guten Hoffnung beherbergt viele Tier- und Pflanzenarten wie Fynbos (feiner Busch), über 250 Vogelarten, darunter Strauße, Böcke, Paviane und das Kap-Bergzebra. Wir empfehlen unseren Gästen, wachsam zu sein und den wilden Tieren im Reservat nicht zu nahe zu kommen, da sie gewalttätig werden können. Kein enger Kontakt oder Fütterung ist erlaubt.
Nachdem wir das Kap der Guten Hoffnung erkundet haben, fahren wir zum Cape Point, wo Besucher eine kurze Wanderung zum Leuchtturm von Cape Point unternehmen oder die Option der Flying Dutchman Standseilbahn nutzen können (zusätzliche Gebühr auf eigene Rechnung). Viele glauben, dass der Cape Point der Treffpunkt der beiden Ozeane ist. Tatsächlich ist Cape Point jedoch der offizielle Treffpunkt der beiden Meeresströmungen: der kalten Benguela- und der warmen Agulhas-Meeresströmung. Der Cape Point Leuchtturm ist der stärkste an der südafrikanischen Küste.
Sofern es in Betrieb ist, fahren wir über den Chapmans Peak Drive, eine der landschaftlich reizvollsten Routen der Welt. Am Aussichtspunkt halten wir ein paar Minuten an, um ein paar Fotos zu machen.
Bei unserer Rückkehr in Kapstadt werden die Besucher am selben Abholpunkt abgesetzt, an dem sie am Morgen abgeholt wurden.

Nathan was the best guide. We saw everything
Thoroughly enjoyed this half-day trip. Tour guide, Mr Mena, was super friendly. Prompt and clear communication leading up to the tour date via WhatsApp. Pick-up and drop-off right at our hotel door. The tour itself is the perfect pace. I know some reviewers say they felt rushed, but let's be clear: this is a half-day tour. Of course time will be a constraint. Further, if you're like me, you don't need more than 5-10 min at an overlook to snap some photos and walk around before moving onto the next sight. You get a solid 45 minutes at the two main stops of the tour (penguin colony at Boulders Beach and lighthouse at Cape Point). And the drive itself is beautiful. So again, this is the perfect pace that will have you back by 2pm to refresh and relax before your evening plans. Highly recommend this tour and Mr Mena as guide. 5/5
We had a limited amount of time and this half-day trip was perfect.
The half day tour was the perfect amount of time. We were worried we would feel rushed, but we saw so much in our short time that it was perfect! Sadie and Mr Smiley were great drivers and host with some much information! They answered a lot of questions, stopped extra when we requested and helped us find some amazing stuff!
We had the best day with Thomas as our tour guide and Mr Bennie as our driver. Amazing wealth of knowledge and the most beautiful scenery I have had the privilege of seeing, and that’s saying something coming from a Kiwi. Absolutely recommend this fabulous little tour.

It was amazing! While half day seems rushed at first, honestly it was perfect! Nathan was wonderful. The group was larger than expected but who cares. We included admission with our tickets which made it hassle free. I would defo suggest this tour for anyone coming to Cape Town.

We had a wonderful trip to see the penguin colony near Boulder Beach and then an excursion to the Cape of Hood Hope. Our guide Nathan from Beyond Africa Safaris was funny, informative and an excellent driver. He was extremely helpful and responded quickly to all our requests. We had a great lunch, and saw so many animals plus extraordinary views of Hout Bay on our ride back to Cape Town. The trip exceeded my expectations by a mile!
