Kommen Sie einem einheimischen Leguan im Seminario Park ganz nah, spazieren Sie am Malecon 2000 am Fluss Guayas entlang, tauchen Sie ein in die farbenfrohen Häuser des Viertels Las Peñas und bewundern Sie die atemberaubende Aussicht von oben auf die Stadt und den Fluss.

Reiseverlauf
Unser erster Halt wird der Seminario Park sein, um seine wunderschönen Gärten und seine Lagune zu bewundern. Mit der Kathedrale von Guayaquil im Hintergrund erfahren wir auch, warum dieser Park als „Leguan-Park“ bekannt ist, indem wir die exotischen Leguane von Guayaquil, die mehr als einen Meter lang sind, aus nächster Nähe betrachten. Anschließend überqueren wir den beliebten Malecon 2000 entlang des Flusses Guayas, wo wir eine Vielzahl von Museen, Gärten, Docks und Aussichtspunkten sehen. Unser nächster Halt wird La Rotonda sein, um das Denkmal der Befreier Südamerikas zu besichtigen und etwas über das berühmte „Interview von Guayaquil“ zwischen dem Venezolaner Simón Bolívar und dem Argentinier José de San Martín zu hören. Anschließend fahren wir in den ältesten Teil der Stadt, um das Kolonialviertel Las Peñas zu erkunden. Ihre farbenfrohen Holzhäuser sind wahre Kunstwerke. Schließlich steigen wir zum Aussichtspunkt Las Peñas (der im 16. Jahrhundert die ursprüngliche Stadt Guayaquil war) auf und genießen einen atemberaubenden Panoramablick auf die Stadt und den berühmten Fluss Guayas.

We wanted to learn about Guayaquil and do some sightseeing before our trip to the Galapagos and did the city tour. It was informative, well-paced, and brought a good balance of history, culture, food, and sights. Allison was a great guide. Even two teen boys enjoyed it.

We did the day tour of Guayaquil in order to get to know the city before we took off to the Galapagos the next day. There were four of us… My wife and I and two teenage boys. The tour was about 3 1/2 hours long and it included history, culture, a little sightseeing, and some food tasting. Allison was an excellent tour guide as a city native. Knowledgeable, eligible, great communicator before, and during the tour, and showed us a lot of the city. I recommend this tour highly.

Today was a wonderful leisurely, walk around Guayaquil. Our tour guide Antonio was extremely knowledgeable about his country and was sure to provide us with the most in-depth explanation of the culture and answered all of our questions. We walked 440 steps in the old city and enjoyed the most beautiful sunset atop the lighthouse where we got a chance to cool off with a wonderful breeze. It was a wonderful adventure for couples with a beautiful and romantic sunset at the end.

We enjoyed riding on the gondolas and visiting the artist neighborhood outside downtown Guayaquil. But a large portion of the tour consisted of being driven, seemingly aimlessly, through parts of the city with no real explanation why. From a distance we saw sights we would have liked to visit like the Monumento al Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, but were past by. Overall, this tour was mediocre at best.
